Hey all. This is my first post here. I just bought a Samick Sage (Actually a Vista Sage from Cabelas but I've learned they are the same). I got it home and one of the limb bolts was missing. I called Cabelas and they are shipping a bolt to me. My question is, the fit between the limbs and the alum. pocket seem loose to me. I stuck a pc of electrical tape on each edge of the pocket and still had to add 1 more pc to 1 side before the limb was "snug" but not tight.
For any Sage owners, is this normal? Should I return it for another or once I get it strung is it a non-issue? I guess the tape would take care of it but it sure seems...hokey.
Yes this is normal. When the bow is strung it is a non-issue.
The limbs on my Sage fit snugly enough that I don't think any electrical tape would fit between the limb and aluminum pocket. Once you get the other bolt, try it and see how well it works. Hopefully, it won't be a problem. Hope you enjoy your bow. My has been a delight.
I bought my female friend a Sage, 30#, for a first bow. It shoots really well, but was very noisy at any brace height. I put a layer of moleskin in the limb pocket and that silenced the limb noise very well.
And get a fast flight string too. That cuts down on the noise and hand vibration as well.
I have a 50lb Sage and am having the same noise issue. Gonna try the mole skin.
Bwaaaahaaaaahaaaaaa...beginners luck!
I decided to keep it. This is at 15 yards, 3rd night of shooting a recurve (25 years with a compound) and I've never done this. I started concentrating on a "point on a spot" and wow does that make a difference.

Clo-z-nuff, unbelievable! Welcome to trad shooting! I'm glad you kept the Vista Sage.
