I am finally going elk hunting again! It has been about 4 years since I drew a Wyoming elk tag and I was unsuccessful on the bull tags again this year, but I put in for a leftover cow tag and I got one! My brother is a Wyoming resident so we will finally get to hunt elk together again. I am one happy guy today!
Dave
Good luck Dave! Im sure you'll have a blast. One of these days Im going to get to hunt elk. Whats your set up going to be?
Bull, cow, doesn't matter - elk are special animals and you have a great trip in front of you. To spend time during September in the mountains, chasing elk, with your brother...... life doesn't get much better than that!
Have a great time!
Have fun and take pix. Shoot straight if you get the chance, and take the time to enjoy the world around you.

Congrats Dave!<><
Hey all,
Thanks.
I will either be shooting a 60# Pronghorn with sitka spruce arrows and 160 Journeyman or a 60# Silvertip with Beman 400s and a 145 Eclipse.
Frank, one of your neck knives and one of your belt knives will be with me.
Dave
Congrats Dave, enjoy every minutes of if and take a lot of pics!
Serge
Where ya headed, Dave?
We will be SE of Jackson Hole.
Sounds like a visit with Iron Bull should be on the agenda- you'll be right in his back yard! Well worth the time if you can....
Dave I want pics of the knife bloody! Thanks Bro.<><
Lucky guy. Almost had a chance to go this year. Well, things happen.
Will do Frank. I forgot, I have your armguard with the knife on it too. That one is my bear protection!
Dave
Good On ya Dave :bigsmyl:
Hoback again?? Been gettin some rain so should be Great Huntin
Congrats, Dave! I'll be heading to CO in 2008 with a very good friend for my first elk hunt - don't know how I'll make it as I can hardly wait now. BTW, was that you that I bought a Colorado Bighorn takedown from a bunch (10???)of years back? (60" 65# @ 30") Seem to remember your name. Great bow - I just sold it to another guy who will continue it's journey.

Morebows,
It could be my old Bighorn. I used to shoot that kind of weight before wore out the cartilage in my shoulder.
I am geeked because I used to live in Wyoming and hunted this area a lot. It is a homecoming of sorts, plus my brother and I get to spend some time on the mountain again.
Dave
Good luck Dave. Wish I was doing the same. Grant
Dave,
I checked last night-I still have the box for storing stuff and it was your bow. Kind of wish I hadn't sold it (wish I had a dollar for everytime I've said that!) - it was the only Bighorn I've ever owned.
Take care and have a good hunt
Mark
Dave:
Enjoy your hunt. Hunting elk with your brother--doesn't get much better than that.
Ill be hunting with a long time friend in Oregon the last week of August. We are both counting the days.

Thanks all, it is going to be great. I have some other great hunting buddies, but it is tough to beat hunting with your brother. During the 4 years I lived in Wyoming we probably spent 50-60 days/year actually hunting or fishing and many more chasing rock chucks or prairie dogs. Great memories and more to be made.
Good Luck Dave!!
Sounds like the Pinedale area?? Beautiful country thats for sure!
