I have a 56" TD I'd like to do a pass around on for the first ten requests. Need to limit it to TG members with at least 100 posts. All I ask is your opinion after a week of shooting and that you insure it for 750.00 and ship to the next person on the list. It will be going out to Over&Under in Colorado before I leave for vacation this Friday. If your interested in trying it out for a few days let me know and I'll get you on the list. I'm anxious to get some opinions on it and look forward to your comments. Actual weight for this bow is:
54#@27"
57#@28"
60.5#@29"
Should be good for shooters out to 29". In one of the pics below you'll see it drawn to my 28.5" draw length. Desert camo/gray action wood riser with carbon back, carbon/actionboo core and angle cut desert camo veneer under clear glass belly.

Kent,
I never get on the pass around bow threads, but I've been interested in your bows for a few years now, you sent me some info a few years ago, I'd like to get on the list if possible.
Thanks,

Mike Gerard owlbait
Thanks everyone. My plan is to get the bow shipped in the morning.
Bow arrived safe and sound...pics and review to follow
Anxious to see what everyone thinks of this bow. AR, just wondering, is there any possibility of doing a lefty?
Ken
May have to build a lefty for demo, I'll let you know.
Could we see the list? Thanks
Here's the current list, still one spot open:
#1 Over&Under CO, bow arrived yesterday
#2 Gen 273 KY
#3 Mike VanBuren PA
#4 Two Arrows NE
#5 Iohkus MO
#6 J Lyle TX
#7 M60gunner CA
#8 Sleepy Hollow NY
#9 Owlbait MI
#10 ????
Let's try to limit the try out to 2-3 days each then pass it along to the next guy on the list. If each person keeps it a week it's going to take a while to make the rounds with the 2-3 days shipping between each spot. I'll send out the shipping info to each for the next recipient. I'd recommend priority mail and please remember to insure it for 750.00.
Thanks

If anybody drops out, I'd like to join in. I've been thinking about purchasing a short bow, and this looks like a real nice bow!
Been able to put some shots through the bow in the last few days...between being way busy and the bow being a few more lbs than I am used to...have not put as many through as I would like. This bow makes you want to shoot it again and again.
For only 56" and my 29" draw...it draws very smooth with no stacking that I can feel. The grip is just excellent, melts in your hand. Kent's fit and finish is excellent, and I just can't get over the design...what sexy lines!! The way the limbs come off the riser and and gets your hand forward...this bow is say to point and looks dang good doing it!!
Dead in the hand, super super quiet, and when you pick it up, you just can't help but think..."I am gonna hit the target"!
This bow / design has really impressed me...I mean really!!
Love the looks, one of the coolest looking designs out there...it may look bulky in pics but it is sleek and slim in the riser...just looks deadly!
Can't seem to get more pics to load right now, but will add some later.
Can't thank Kent enough for allowing me to shoot it for awhile, but I thoroughly enjoyed it...and will hang on to it for a few more days before sending it on its way.
Again, this bow is the real deal...great all across the board.
Jake
Thanks Jake, enjoy shooting it for a few more days. Glad to hear you like and that it feels good at your 29" draw. The forward riser does make it point easy.
Jake,
Great pic. Love the bow and the Shorthair!
great pics love to see a close up of the riser Thanks Shane
I just took a few new pics yesterday. I think I have a couple close up riser pics. I'll try to get them posted in an hour or so.
Here's a few riser pics.

That is one of the more cooler looking forward risers I've seen! Anxious to see it in person.
Any other comments from the other shooters?
It's on it's way from Over&Under to Gen273 in KY. Should be there today. Looking forward to Charlie's opinion after he puts some arrows through it.

I just received the bow, I will post a full review after I shoot it some.
TimberGhost Hybrid TD Review
First, let me say that this bow was a real surprise to me. Because like many of you, part of my Trad addition is the constant desire to shoot every bow made. However, Most of the time the product does not live up to my anticipation. The TimberGhost has definitely surpassed my expectations.
Grip
For me, the grip either makes or breaks a bow. The TimberGhost grip is spot on! It is a comfortable and repeatable grip that produces a great platform for accuracy. I would easily place this grip in my top three favorites, and I have shot a truck load of Trad bows.
Riser
The TimberGhost is a forward handle take down bow, with a Black Widow shaped riser. However, the TimberGhost is much sleeker and slimmer. This riser also has a very small sight window, which I think promotes the bows accuracy because it really puts your vision in perfect alignment above the arrow.
Limbs
The limbs fit the riser flawlessly, and appear to be very well built. These limbs produce a smooth draw and fast bow. I also should note, that this bow is super quiet.
Fit and finish
The fit and finish on this bow is second to none! There is no question that this is a top shelf bow.
Conclusion
The TimberGhost is a bow that begs to be shot. The forward handle design produces a bow that naturally shoots where you look. This is one of the easiest bows to shoot accurately that I have ever had my hands on. Furthermore, the bow has no hand shock, smooth draw, and flat out smokes an arrow. I think that anyone in the market for a Hybrid really owes it to themselves to give the TimberGhost a long hard look! I have already made up my mind that I am going to own one of these bows. If anyone has a specific question, just send me a PM.
Looking forward to my turn. What arrows are you finding that are the most accurate?
I shot a gold tip 55/75 with a total of 225 up front, it paper tuned perfect for me.
I will be shipping it out to the next in line tomorrow.
I can't wait. I love forward riser bows and prefer longbows over 'curves.
Thanks Charlie, glad you liked the bow. I'll get yours started soon.
I got a chance to shoot the Timber Ghost while Charlie had it, and I was truly impressed. What a comfort bow to shot. Just like I was telling him, about how the grip was very comfortable, and how impressed I was about the over all feel of the bow. Thanks Ken for giving us a try. You defiantly have a winner here. I look forward to owning one in the near future. Thanks!!! God bless.
I shipped the bow to Mike today.
I'm ready.
Mike,
Let us know when it gets there, I think it will be there on Tuesday.
Thanks
AR man they are some great looking bows Thnaks Shane
The bow just arrived. Got it strung up already. :D
Kent, what is your suggested brace height?
Thanks
Recommended brace height is 7 3/4 - 8 1/2.
:campfire:
I keep checking back, hoping to see a Lefty is being offered....hint, hint, hint.... :bigsmyl:
I was hoping my review would be a little different as I almost hunted with the bow. The 5575 shaft I had cut for this bow was a bit too stiff for my everyday bow. Even though I felt confident with the Timberghost, I decided not to hunt with her and cut down any more of my shafts. Friday was opening day in Maryland and I had a stand hung for sikas on the edge of a marsh that looked very promising. To make a long story short, the early morning thermals gave me away as I listened to a chirp, bark and splashing water about 50 yards out. I didn't get to take any scenic pictures of the bow or next to an animal but I did spend enough time with her at home.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the beautiful non-glare finish on the riser. That's what can't be shown easily in a picture. The grip has a small throat and is shaped so your hand slides right to where it places the pressure at the web of your thumb. I am used to shooting Fedora bows so this narrow grip took a little time to get used to but I liked the feel of how my hand was positioned. The arrow shelf sits very close to your hand and is crowned and radiused.
The riser was lighter in mass than I thought it would be but it was very steady to hold because of the forward handle. The draw starts out heavy but seems to stay the same all the way back making it feel very smooth. I didn't have any problems with stacking or finger pinch shooting split finger at my 27-3/4" draw. I describe the shot as crisp yet soft for a longbow if that makes any sense. I thought it shot fast but not crazy fast while being very quiet and shock free. I think the forward handle has something to do with the lack of felt hand shock. It was natural to point and very controllable. If I did my part following thru, the arrow found its way to the 2" circle at 15 yards. I enjoyed shooting it so much that I tired myself out every session.
My opinion is that this bow would be a great bow to hunt with in thick cover or in a treestand. I have already thought of how my bow would be ordered. It would be 52#, 58" long with osage, bocote and antler overlay. I am curious how the new Smoke 1 piece model will look. I will shoot this bow one more round and get her packed up for the trip to Nebraska for Two Arrows. Thank you Kent for the opportunity to shoot this bow.
Sorry for leaving no spaces between the paragraphs.
Thanks Mike, glad you enjoyed shooting it. I hope to have one of my one piece bows on the website soon.
I'm curious as to the one-piece also, looking forward to it.
:campfire:
:coffee: :coffee:
The TD will be heading to you next iohkus, probably either Friday or Monday. Should be seeing a review from Two Arrows soon. As far as the one piece bow, been working out of town the last couple weeks. I've got a couple in the works, a 54" I have ready for finish and a 58" ready for glue up. Just have to get them finished to get some pics for the website. My plan is to do a pass around with the 58".
Tuesday .............. haven't seen anything ..................
Will, Doug shipped the bow to you today, Priority mail. I would think you should have it by Thursday. Let me know when it shows up and what you think after you put a few arrows through it.
Received the bow this morning. Put it together and redid the center serving as it was too small for my nocks. It was late this evening before I was able to get out and do some shooting.
First shooting impressions: bow shoots hard and fast; seemed to be very accurate, and for me that's saying something. I will give a more detailed review after I've shot it a bit more and add some pics also, even though pics have been posted before.
:archer2:
Kent,
Don't worry about building stock or pass around bows, just spend all of your extra time on my bow........or on second thought, just all of your time on my bow........LOL :bigsmyl:
Getting started on yours today Charlie....... :bigsmyl:
Charlie, gotta have a report with pictures ya know. :archer:
Hey AR...any photos of that one piece you could post?
man I would have loved to try that bow out. looks great
Here are a few pics of a one piece I have in the works. It's not finished, just rough sanded but should give you and idea of the profile. This one is bocote with carbon back. It has a thumb rest which I think really helps for consistent hand placement and just feels good to me. The one piece doesn't have as much of a forward riser as my TD but is still smooth shooting, easy to point and has very good performance. I may do a pass around bow when I have time to get one built.

I like the looks of that Long Bow! I have a Centaur and it flavor it some. How the performance?
I'm jealous. I think I may be on the "Injured Reserve List" if someone drops out ;)
Shot the bow quite a bit Saturday. To reiterate my last post, I'm certainly impressed with this bow's accuracy. I would very much like to shoot one tillered to my draw length of 26" and weighing in at 45#. Shooting this one's 57# @ 28" put me at about 51#, which taxed my endurance somewhat. But I was very impressed with it's performance.Shot my 444 gr. Beman Hunters hard and fast. Could have been a little quieter, but not bad.
One feature I especially liked is the inboard slant of the arrow shelf.
Another note is how close your bow hand sits to the arrow shelf, so much so that a few times my hand was stung by the passing arrow
(http://i1054.photobucket.com/albums/s488/savml10/P1010281.jpg)
A friend of mine, who shot the bow a little, experienced the same. He also was impressed with the bow's performance. The grip could have fit me a little different, but that is personal preference. I would also like a little longer riser (not much) again, a personal thing. Finger pinch was not an issue as I shoot with a release (which could be a source of the extra noise I alluded to)
All in all, I like the looks and performance of the bow, and would not hesitate recommending it to a prospective buyer.
Thank you Kent for giving me the oppertunity to shoot it.

Will be sending the bow to J Lyle tomorrow.
Thanks for the review and the great pics. Glad you liked the bow. Just let me know if you decide to order one in your draw weight. The shelf can be extended to prevent the occasional fletching/hand contact. That's the way I'm building Charlie's bow, he made the same comment.

How far down the list am I? Hope this bow isn't all worn out by the time it gets here? Any new reviews? :D
:campfire:
The bow is on it's way to San Diego to M60 Gunner CA...didn't put THAT on the package, though. It was a joy to shoot. My big paws recreated the organic arrow rest that others have mentioned, but placing the web of my thumb lower and letting the bow seat itself fixed that.
The fit and finish are as top-shelf as everyone else has said here. It begs to be shot. It will call to you when you are working. It drives an arrow like it was shot out of a gun. Just feels really solid and crisp on release. It doesn't shoot like any other short bow that I've ever used. No stack, no pinch, and quiet as a churchmouse. Thanks for the opportunity to try it out!
Not many pics of it drawn, so ya'll ignore my thumb and keep your comments about backtension to a minimum... I know.

JLyLe, with those big arms, I'm not giving you any guff! What arrows did you shoot and what weight do you usually shoot? I'm getting closer :D
I will be on the lookout for the bow. It is supposed to cool down a little next week in the mountains. We are resetting our 3ds this weekend. A perfect combo.
Tom
Thanks for the review and pics James, glad you liked the bow other than the "organic arrow rest", I'm extending the shelf from now on.
Sounds like good timing Tom. Let me know how she treats your 3D targets.
Kent
Clay Newcomb sent me a pic of a AR doe he killed yesterday afternoon with a 60" 51@28 TimberGhost TD.
Clay is the director of the Arkansas Black Bear Assoc. If you want to check out the ABBA website its ARBEAR.org
I would like to get on the list if you do a lefty also (that can handle a 31" draw!).
I had a great time shooting the bow over the weekend. My pictures did not turn out well as the weather went sour on us. Drizzle for 2days. I had no trouble shooting my carbons as well as my woods. I even shot my 2020 alum. with out any issues. I did tune the bow for me, ie. brace height, nock set at the bales. Then I tried my hand at the 3d pop ups we had at our shoot. I found the bow to be very handy when trying to keep up with the targets moving up and down.
This is the first time I was able to shoot lots of arrows in a short bow. I didn't know what to expect at ranges over 30 yards. I was pleasantly surprised to find I did not need to make any changes to my shooting style or sight picture. I was able to keep the arrows in the kill zone when I did my part.
I want to thank Kent for the chance to shoot his "Timber Ghost" bow. The bow will be on its way to New York today.
Tom M
Thanks for the review Tom. Sounds like she worked out pretty good for you. What brace height did you end up shooting it at?Glad you got to try it out on the 3Ds. What kind of bow do you normally shoot?
Tom also found the nock point set for 90 deg which could have caused a lot of the "organic arrow rest" effect for JLyle, not sure how long it's been tha way.
I had the brace height about 8in. That worked with the arrows I was using.
I am one of those people who may not shoot the same bow or arrows two weeks in a row unless I am going hunting. This year is a bust as far as hunting goes. I have to take care of my new hip. I have been shooting my 64 lb. Pete George lately. I will stick with it for a while longer. Then back to my Wes Wallace long bow.
Kent, it looks like I'm up after Steve. Who do I send it too? Looking forward to my turn.
Hey Owlbait
Cant wait for you to try it out. It will be coming to you from Steve.
Next on the list after you is:
Kyle Betts

Milford De. 19963
Thanks
I will be on vacation until 11/4 just so you'll know. Looking foward to this. Just got my Kanati and now I want a t/d!
Looking forward to your thoughts Kyle.
Back up so I can keep track :)
Kent, tried to email you but it just gets bounced back as undeliverable, will call you tomorrow, Monday
I've had a couple other e-mails today, arridgerunner@gmail.com. Did the bow show up OK? Let me know.
Mike
Steve is planning on shipping the bow tomorrow if the PO has reopened. Should be on its way to you soon.
I'll watch for it. Any problems? I hope it isn't due to the weather. I sure could wait until he had time to shoot it.
Mike
Hi Mike, bow went out today, guesstimate 3-4 days to you, I had a chance to shoot her, very smooth to draw and pretty quick also, not to mention beautiful to look at, Steve
Thanks Steve, hope all is well with you and yours. I'll watch for the bow. Mike
Rec'd the TimberGhost today. For all the miles, she is in great shape. I like the flat matte finish. Overall, very nice workmanship. Impressed with the crowned and radiused shelf. Can't wait to get a few arrows off from it. The antler pieces on the back of the riser are nicely shaped to match the riser contours. More info to come.
A couple quick pics to show it has all the parts :)

Glad to see it showed up in one piece, the mileage has taken a toll. Had a couple chips and dings courtesy of the USPS between Nebraska and MO. Looking forward to your opinion after you put some arrows through it. I probably would have put the string puffs a little closer to the ends, it's a quiet bow anyway, but seems like its been shooting good for everybody.
Thanks
I gree on the puffs Kent. Shot the TG tonight. Like everyone else, it was enjoyable. 7# heavier than I normally shoot but very smooth and easy on my shoulders/arms. I am struggling with a consistent grip, as I will get that "organic" shelf effect every few arrows. Probably more of an issue due to the heavier weight. I shot AD TradLite Black shafts with a onestringer wrap and 3 5 1/2 feathers, 225 grains up front. Flew very well. Bow is quiet, but does have that "carbon" limb sound. Not loud, just different. Will post pics of my first 20 yard group later. Thanks for the opportunity to shoot your bow Kent, she's a winner! :clapper:
My first 20 yard group.

Thanks for the review, glad you liked it.
Just finished shooting the TimberGhost for the last time. What a fun, quick bow to shoot. As I retrieved my arrows from the kill zone I looked back and thought,"That bow looks like a rocketship, and it shoots just as fast!" I'll be packaging her up and shipping her out Monday or Tuesday to kbetts. Thanks again Kent for this opportunity.
Mike Gerard owlbait
Just finished boxing up the TimberGhost for kbetts. The box was kind of rough so I packed THAT box inside a heavier box. Will try to ship tomorrow. Enjoy it Kyle, I did! Thanks again Kent for letting me on the list. :notworthy: :clapper:
Thanks for the review and for putting it in a new box, I think that's at least the third one. It's been a few miles since it left AR.
Kent
Well, this old Navy vet forgot about the Post Office closing today. Will get it shipped tomorrow.
Shipped at noon today from Holton, Mi. Have fun Kyle.
Can't wait. Am I the last one?
The rut is cranking right now and I might see if I can get it bloody......but I'll wipe it off.
I hope you do. Too much pressure in my woods this last weekend. I sent Kent the tracking number.
One more on the list but feel free to hunt with it and get it bloody. Put some DE deer mojo on it. If you're like everyone else so far you'll be stacking arrows into the kill zone in no time. Looks like it should deliver to you on Thursday 11/15 according to the tracking info.
Let me know when it shows up and good luck with it.
Kent
Will do.
Kyle, did the bow arrive?
Got it yesterday. Looks nice. I'll string it tomorrow....ruts on and I've been huntin.
Thanks, just wanted to take care of my responsibilities. Have fun, good luck!
Is it too late to get on the list?
Hey John
Send me your shipping address and I'll get you on the list. Just one ahead of you at this point. Should have it in a couple weeks or so.
AR
Sent you a PM with all info required. Thanks for the demo!!!!
If there are any spots left i would love to try this bow. I have a 58# morrison i would like to shoot it side by side with and compare. Been following this thread as i like the look/style of your bows. Logan
Sure Logan, just send me your address and I'll get you on the list.
Thanks, Information has been sent! Cant wait to get it!
I'll give a full report after the holiday but I have to say it is very eye catching. The grip felt funny to me at first but it's grown on me. Maybe a hair small but I'm thinking a longer riser version would be more my cup of tea. Plenty comfortable, just different than I'm used to.
Any news on the bow?
Haven't seem Kbetts review yet but he should be shipping the bow to Kyle ********* today.
I can't wait to get it and try it out.

My review:
I really, really like this bow. It has great pointability and "shootability". It's personality just screams "this is a hunting bow". I draw an honest 29.5" (gorilla arms) so I was a little leary about the short length but after shooting this bow last evening and at lunch, I didn't want to put it down. The overall length (56") make it very "tight quarter" hunting friendly. The deflex riser makes it very torque resistant. I was hitting my mark shortly after picking it up. The craftsmanship is flawless. The glue lines are invisible and the various laminations just flow together. Even though this is a short bow with carbon limbs, the overall weight of the bow makes it stable in my opinion. I've owned and shot some short, light bows that were, at least in my shooting style, difficult to control due to lack of weight/stability. With this bow, the overall weight was good and consequently I found the bow very stable. Again, as it said, I didn't want to put it down.
Kent - you definitely have a very good design with the Timberghost. I appreciate the opportunity to review the bow. I will (reluctantly) pass it on to John.
Kyle
Kent, still any thoughts on a lefty pass around?
Thanks for the review Kyle, glad you liked the bow.
Rusty, haven't had the time to do a lefty yet. If I do you'll be first on the list.
Thanks
Anything on this bow? Can't wait to get it!
Logan, I talked to John Dill briefly this morning, said he had it boxed up ready to ship to you. If he gets it out Monday I would think you should have it by Thursday.
What did you think of the bow John?
Sweet! If I like this bow I'll be ordering a grey one hopefully! Are you going to be a kalamazoo?
Sounds good Logan, I'll post a couple pics of a gray one I sold a while back when I get a chance. Let me know when you get the bow and what you think after you put some arrows through it.
I won't be at Kzoo this year, maybe next year.

Sounds good, I'm starting a traditional league friday so it will be the perfect time to get this bow! Should be able to get a few diffrent guys thoughts on your bow! Thanks for the chance to shoot your bow!
Here's a couple pics of a gray bow I did a while back. This one has an EFA limb bolt quiver which works really well on my TDs.

Well the mail ran for today and still no bow????? Hopefully John didn't send it regular mail! I had a buddy of mine wait over 20 days for a bow that was sent through regular mail! I'll let you know when I get it.
Well I just shipped out the bow yesterday, this bow was fast and quiet! I did have a problem that a couple others had and that was the arrow riding on the web of my hand when I shot. Other than that I was a great bow, I think I would have liked the 13" riser a little better but thats just me. Thanks for having the pass around and giving me the chance to shoot your bow!!
Thanks for the review Logan. I'm extending the shelf on all my bows now because of a few that have had issues with the shelf/arrow being too close to the hand. Thanks everybody for your reviews and suggestions, that's what I hoped to get out of this pass around.
Looking forward to your review Brant, you should have the bow by Friday.
Kent,
You bringing more than one of your bows to BEAR QUEST ? Like GURU I am a lefty :-) would like to try one.
Hey Tom
I'll bet I can make that happen, need to get a lefty built.
This is one fine shooting bow! Fit and finish is excellent and it smokes an arrow. I draw right at 29" and didn't notice any stacking. At 56" the Timberghost might find it's way into my stable. Quiet, smooth, quick and no handshock, all you could ask from a bow. Great work Ridgerunner and thanks for the opportunity. I was a little leary about shooting that much weight especially in a 56" bow but she was a true joy to shoot.
Sending her on to the next lucky fellow tomorrow.
kent well done ..
Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed putting her through the paces.
