GOLD TIPS ARE MADE IN THE USA OREM UTAH
Carbon Expesss are made Korea
Gold Tips are very inconsistent shaft-to-shaft. CX is the call.
Beman Classics :)
I shoot both and am not a good enough shot to really tell a difference in either shaft. I like that GT is American owned though and they get most of my business. Hard to beat Big Jim's prices on the blems.

X2 also made in the USA
I say Carbon Express, they are just better shafts! I do wish that they were made in the USA.
In case you didn't already know, the CE tend to run a little stiffer than advertised. Still great greats and I do like shooting the ones I have. Personally, I found them a tad harder to tune since they do run stiffer.

I've shot them and they are indeed good arrows but I'm not willing to pay the extra $$$
I've owned and shot them both. The CE shafts have a heavier gpi and seem to be slightly tougher if not footed, great shafts. I think the GT Trad blems are an excellent shaft for the money and IMHO shoot every bit as good as CE Heritage shafts. Put an inch of aluminum footing on them and they are almost indesructible.
BTW, I thought GT's were made across the pond also, just finished in the USA.

I agree 100%! I have spined tested them and GT's have varied up to 20# difference in the same dozen, not the blems either. And as stated above, they are not near as tough or as heavy as CE's. I do like their appearance better though.
I have both and I like them both. The GT's you can get about $20 a dozen cheaper then the CE's and to me they are not $20 more.
The brass inserts and nock adapters that I use in my .500 spine Gold Tips also fit in my .600 spine Gold Tips.
With Carbon Express 90s I can't use the inserts and I am stuck with their nock.
I have gotten CE 150s that were mismarked, and were probaby 250s, so I gave them away and never bought any more.
Killdeer
CX are darn near bomb proof and i went with them for the GPI. Joe
I shoot CX Heritage 250s almost exclusively now. Very tough shaft with a good amount of weight.
I sell CX, Beaman, and Gold Tip but shoot the GT's because the others don't make a shaft stiff enough for me. If it weren't for that, I would have a hard time deciding from one to another.
Each mfg has there atributes and there detractors although the difference are minor.
The shaft weight means little to me as I get most of my weight from the front weight. This gives me superior flight and I have no problem getting to the weight I want.
BigJim
I shoot GT blems for the price and the spine if money was no object and the spine is right for you CX is the better shaft I think nothing is more indestructable. Widow

I have both and prefer the Carbon Express shafts. As the guys say, they have more gpi than the GT's in similar spines. Also prefer the nocks in them. They are tighter to turn and have never had one blow up on me.
Carbon Express seems to be tougher so that is what I shoot. As far as made in USA that is a dream gone by. A few are purists but the majority want cheap, cheap, cheap. We screwed up the made in USA thing from the 70's to present. No going back till China's people prosper. Sorry. Enjoy the cheap stuff! Too bad CX quality does not yield blems for a cheap product.
I vote for the CX also. Glanced off the back of my 3D target and right into a concrete wall. NO DAMAGE. Very tough.
Thanks, randy chamberlin
I would say out of those two I would go with the CX as well.
GT and foot them never broke one yet.
I hope the best trick shot in the world doesnt read this B.F. because he is using the wrong arrows.Someone help him :biglaugh:
haha poor Byron doesnt know his stuff I guess. I would shoot the GT Byron Ferguson arrows over any of the carbon express.
