Thought I would share my Trad Only arrows I set up for this year's elk hunt.

They are 29" long (I draw 27 1/4") and weigh 536 grains without a BH. I'll probably use the 125 grain Magnus Stingers which would bring the total weight to ~661 grains.
I really like the reflective arrow wraps from Onestringer. I also used 8 gpi weight tubes from 3 Rivers and 50 grain brass inserts on the "working end".
I fletched them with 5" yellow barred feathers... also from a Trad Gang sponsor.

I'll be shooting about 50# at my draw.
Thanks for looking and good luck this fall!
Those are sweet, but just curious, how are you getting a 536 grain arrow without the BH?
Spitfire:
50 grain brass insert = 50
9.1 gpi Trad Only 400 shaft X 29" = 264
8.1 gpi weight tube X 28" = 227
Sub Total = 491
I guess the rest is in the wrap, aluminum collar, feathers and nock. ????
I weighed it on a set of laboratory scales weighing to the fourth place in mgs.

I don't know if you will be able to see the numbers on the scale... but it read 34.75 (rounded off) GRAMS. I went to a converter web site and converted it to GRAINS.

Got it. I figured a brass insert, but adding the weight tube slipped my mind. I still like the looks of those arrows. To me, it just looks trad.
Looks like they should do the trick.
Nice arrows, good luck on your hunt.
NICE looking arrows  They would go great with my new T.S. MOAB :biglaugh:
Thanks guys. While no carbon arrow is "cheap", I consider these the poor man's carbon. I really enjoy setting them up too.
Hope to be able to share "hero pics" next month.
