Anyone out there use the no-glove instead of a tab or glove?Just wondering about advantages or disadvantages you have had or heard about.Seems to eliminate the possibility of forgetting your glove or tab.Does it affect your release at all?
Bad idea. Slows the bow and makes it quite loud in many cases.
I've tried it. It sort of felt like I didn't have complete control of the string at full draw. Some thing about the thing rolling around on the string was a bit worrisome.
Some guys use them for bow fishing.
Ok.Good answers. So what type of glove or tab would y'all suggest to get a smooth release and optimum bow speed?
I've used the no gloves previously and it felt like it was twisting as I drew.I could group decently but it seemed I was more apt to have a bad release. The other thing I noticed(which may explain the twisting) was it didn't slide off the fingers real smooth all the time.I'm assuming it is because it is similar to the consistency of a pencil erase dragging across something. It kinda gets a bite on my fingers.
oh well I'm babbling now lol. Thanks for the input and looking forward to the glove and tab suggestions.Sooner or later I'll get this traditional stuff figured out.Seems I'm on the right track now that I've found this site and all the helpful people on here. Thanks y'all.
I like the Damascus Glove, or the S.A.M (Super Archery Mitt) tab.
American Leathers Big Shot seems to get good reviews. I just got one today to try out myself. Still like Damascus gloves though.
I like the Damascus and the Super glove. use no-gloves for bowfishing to quickly capture the nock and keep it stable in wet and wild conditions. Tried it before o my hunting bow and it hurt my sissy fingers so went back to gloves.
