Title: A carbon arrow question...
Post by: Rigs on August 06, 2012, 11:26:00 AM
Greetings All,

I was wondering two things about carbons...

First, If I trade a heavy broadhead (275grn. with stock insert) vs. a heavy insert (100grn.) and a broadhead (175 grn.), will the arrow fly different?  Same weight up front, just carried different on the end of the arrow...

Second, which aluminum shaft can I use to foot a Carbon Express Heritage 350?

Thanks in advance,
Jason

Changing the front end weight like that will lower your FOC just a tad but I do not think it will make much of a noticeable difference in arow flight. You should tune (whether bare shaft or paper) after the change just to make sure though.

I don't use footings or CE arrows so I cannot answer the footing question.

Carbon Express Heritage
90 - ?
150 - 2216
250 - 2216
350 - 2215

Here is some info TX AG gave me on footing.  Here what I was given for CE.  I ended up with Beman MFX so didnt try the CE.  Maybe someone else can give you a 100% the 2215 work first hand.

If your bow is tuned you'll not be able to notice any difference, should fly just fine for you that way.

I don't think that little bit of change in how the weight is distributed will effect your tuning enough for you to tell anything.
