Title: Taking a bow into Canada
Post by: macapple on August 05, 2012, 11:39:00 PM
I am planning a fishing trip to Canada and would like to take a bow and do some stump shooting. Does anyone know if it is legal to take a bow into the country without a great deal of red tape.

Thanks for your input.

should be no problem. There is no registration for bows (or long guns anymore yahoo) and they are not considered firearms

No worries, don't even need to declare it or anything.

Have fun.

We are headed to New Brunswick this next spring for bear and were told just to tell them when we come through customs to let them know we archery equipment and we'd be good to go. No forms or anything to fill out.

There is no problem but I still would tell them at the border that you have it.....if they do check you out and you have a weapon and you did not tell them ...not good!
