Title: Arrow/field point setup question?
Post by: LURP DOG on August 05, 2012, 10:38:00 AM
I just received my rehab/startin over bow (35# SAGE) and wanted to know what would be a good arrow/field point setup.

I want to use some old XX75 2016 arrows (29")that I have which should be ok according to the charts.
With 100 grain tips the arrow comes out to 448.8 grains. Is this too much weight? I thought the rule of thumb is that it should be around 10 grains per bow weight. Mine comes out to 12.82 per pound!

The question is too much weight for, what.
Won't hurt the bow but will shoot a little, slower with that much arrow weight.

If your rehabbing as long as the arrows fly reasonably well I'd just concentrate on form and working the muscle groups.

For optimum performance there would be better choices for a 35# bow if you were competing.

Heal fast!  I agree with macbow, don't worry about that stuff until you're ready to practice with your real hunting rig.

I'm starting to enjoy this weight of the bow and may start shootin some tree rats with it as I get back into shooting it.

What would ya'll suggest as a better arrow/tip setup?
3Rivers chart came up with 2013 or 1916. Does this sound about right?
