Do any of yall have a particular set up the makes you feel just a little bit more deadly. For me its my 54@27 Lee with Woodsman heads. I have killed almost all of my meager amount of trad game with it. I have other bows but when I hold my Lee I am confident and know I will hit the mark when the chips are down. So what are your killer bows. Pics if ya gotem.
My 56" whisperstik kajika stik recurve 55# @ 28" Shooting goldtip trads tipped with 175 vpa heads, This bow is a killing machine That fits me like a glove!

I feel deadly any time im in the woods. I have 1 recurve and 1 long bow. Every year I start out with one of them and after I kil a deer I'll switch to the other. But every time I hunt with my long bow I feel like such a bas ass!!
I have not yet killed any game with my takedown but I definately feel like I shoot it better.
Right now, its 80# of whisper quiet longbow with 800 grain AD hammerheads tipped with RAZOR sharp Tree Sharks and bleeder blades. cant believe the rush it is to see these things fly. Let the big dog eat.
85# Monarch Imperial longbow, with which ever arrow combo using at the time. Presently 30" Douglas fir, 160gr Simmons Interceptor/75gr woody weight, 4" natural Turkey 3 fletch.
(interesting to note up to this post all that have replied are shooting over 50# draw)
50# centaur carbon elite. Gt35/55's w/265gr up front and and zwickeys.
66# Dwyer Defiant 750gn. goldtip arrows toped off with razercap heads, doesn't even slow down on it's way through critters!
54" 54# @26 Hoots Recurve w/ 175g Simmons tiger shark & Beman MFX Classic 400 total 566g
**Former set-up strategy due to inability to afford targets**
51@28 Habunero w/arrows 400 gns up front... 608 gn total...32% Ultra-EFOC.
-Reduced a new 18 in 1 to dust in 3 1/2 weeks (Big 3 BH's)
-Shot out a new Eagle layered target in 2 1/2 weeks (field points)
- Started bouncing arrows out of the core of new Morrel Outdoor Range w/i 3 weeks.
- Yet only 15 yards and with much good fortune, this is the only setup that I have robinhooded bare shaft to bare shaft.
-Skewered a doe from sternum through back ham (Big 3 BH)
Ironically, my only 3D scores of a 9+ average per target have been achieved with this set-up.
My main quarry are turkeys, however I felt compelled to test the waters.
58# Kanati, GT 55/75 or Beman mfx400's topped off with tree sharks
54" 54# @26 Hoots Recurve w/ 175g Simmons tiger shark & Beman MFX Classic 400 total 566g
I think I finally have "the one". This bow has fit me so well, the anticipation of bow season is driving me crazy.
New this year, 60 inch St. Joe longbow 58@28, nearly all walnut with bamboo/uniweft core. Blackhawk Carbonwoods 3000's, Bear Razorheads mounted on 100 grain steel adapters. This set-up is very fast and consistent, can't wait to try it out on deer!
Ive been working hard with my H.H but i just couldnt help but pick up my old no name Hill style that I got in a trade today, 70 " 65 - 70 lbs (never scaled it ) and as usual it puts them right where im looking.
My confidence level with this old girl is huge, so I think with Hill heads, and Douglas Fir shafts, its game on with "Ole No Name".
Shooting a 68" A&H ACS CX longbow. It is 61# and I'm shooting Jim Dougherty 2018's with Muzzy Phantoms with the bleeders removed. The extra length and poundage of this bow pay huge dividends.
64lb brack quest. 2219's with 225 grains.
SL
70" 83# Northern Mist Classic shooting 30" bop Surewood Shafts with 100 grain Woody Weight and a 165 Grain Treeshark. Total Arrow weight is 850-855 grains and flying like they are on a string!
Having had a deer take a step as I released last season, resulting in the lack of an exit wound, I choose to not let that happen again. I don't follow the "Any penetration into the dirt after passing though an animal is wasted" line of thought" I prefer to call it "reserve penetration" A whitetail shoulder will not stop this setup.
I have never had the confidence I currently feel with this bow. Honestly I always wondered about the "It hits where I look" comments till I picked this bow up from Steve Turay at Tannehill back in February. Since then it is like this bow has become part of me. I can't wait for September!
55# @ 28 TallTines, 340 carbon arrow and a 250-60g Abowyers or Snuffer. Will blow thru anythin in North America at my 30" draw and I have the ultimate confidence in it. That camo bow goes wth me no matter what my primary TallTines is...it is my good luck charm!

when in hand I feel the most deadly with my Browning Nomad Stalker 60# with 2016's tipped with Zwickey Deltas. I've never shot another bow that takes such little effort to hit right where I need to.

with allum 2314's cut to 29.5 with a 200grn muzzy phantom 2 blade with a hotglue stick inserted on the inside giveing me an extra 70ish grains comes out to around 660-690grains (havnt offically weighed.i hav'nt taken anything with it but it hits where i look at 45 yards. im totally sure if something walks in closer then 40 yards i could make the shot but im saving it for a chip shot hopefully between 10-30 yards. i brought this to my last 3d shoot and shot a 268 first day shooting it 3d i was on the money that day haha.
it sure rocks a target when it hits though
if i have arrows for my 90# in id call that my deadly bow haha

Jason
I'm feeling good about my 59er. 52# at my 27" draw. Douglas fir shafts with Zwickey 2 blade Eskimos.
I have custom long bow that shoot great and I love and hunt with most of the time...but my old faithful is my first bow ever a Martin Mamba 55@28 with wooden shafts...I think it's because I shot that bow for hours upon hours when I first got it... I just know that if an animal walks within 20 yards of me, this side of a miracle it won't be leaving without a small hole in 'em.
I find myself using my 52# ACS most often with Sweetland forgewood shafts and Zwickey 4-blade deltas, STOS two-blade and or Abowyer wapiti single bevel heads -- about 600 grain total arrow weight.
However, I feel just as deadly with my one-piece longbows and TD recurves. In any given season involving 6-8 weeks in the woods (I'm retired) I generally use all of them at one time or another.
60 Inch Cari-Bow Slynx 49# with 700 grain arrow and 2 blade Zwickey Delta

I always go back to my Kohannah Fury longbow, 48#@28, two blade Magnus(or lately Wensel Woodsmans), 35/55 Gold Tip Trads with 100 gr brass inserts and 3gpi weight tubes.
I've killed a lot of stuff with that set-up.

Medusa is a 62" 49# Big East TD with diamondback water snake skins. I plan on doing quite a bit of still hunting on the 23,000 acre WMA that ajoins my cabin's property, up on Third Hill Mountain. She strikes real, real fast...
