My wife and I shot at 30 yards tonight and after a few rounds of 5, I move up to 20 and was able to pull all 5 arrows with one hand and they were all in the kill zone. Up until tonight 20 has been my max and I had a hard time at that distance. After 30, it was a chip shot. I am going to keep shooting at 30 and hope to push that distance.
it helps alot doesnt it? ive been shooting out to 45 here at home a lot, and its really helped make those real hunting type shots much easier.
Practicing far makes 20 and under feel like a chip shot for me to.I practice out to 40 yards every time i shoot. Also helps build good form.
I hope to get there also. But even at 20 yards I am thankful for the backstop behind the McKenzie buck

Long range makes the short stuff easy!!! I think flying targets help alot for me to.

It's awesome isn't it. I do 95% of my shooting at 40 yards. Like said above it makes your form better plus really helps your confidence and mental game at those hunting distances.
I shoot a lot at 30, 40, 50 yards. I even took a few at 60 this week. It is a lot of fun, and gives a person a better understanding of how they shoot, and how their setup shoots. Would I shoot that far at game? Not likely!
I may shoot at a flock of 1000 black brids setting in a field at 60 yards. I maybe able to hit one out of a 1000. Lol
I too have been moving back to 40 yards, and it really makes me slow down the shot and execute. When I move back up to 20 yards I feel doubly deadly. Also, at 40 yards it's just plain fun watching the flight of the arrow.
"shed hunter" Its easy at 60 yards..... Just lead alot   And make your own bird points with a 4 foot wing span!!
This is exactly why I spend so much time shooting field archery every year. Long range practice makes short shots all that much easier.
Yep, I like to horse around with long shots! I shoot my 48# bow with pretty heavy arrows, so it's pretty slow, though, and those arrows drop hard at that distance!
I set a gallon jug out at 60 yards the other day, and after 3 shots to determine elevation, I pegged it on the 4th. My wife was there to see the shot and my subsequent fist-pumping and caveman-grunting.
I dont get many chances to shoot longer than 20 Yars shots, living in town, I am lucky to get the 20! :banghead: :biglaugh:
I Love getting out to the Family Farm and shooting 50 and 60 yard shots!! I just take Extra Arrows!! :biglaugh:
Last night I was struggling at the close range...15, 20 yards.....I wasn't focusing, at least one bad arrow (real bad) out of my group of 3. I moved back to 40, and dropped in 3 perfect arrows. Go figure. I suppose the extra rnge snapped my focus in line.
