Title: arrow question
Post by: mecosta on August 02, 2012, 09:31:00 PM
i am new to trad.  I was outside shooting the other day and noticed that my arrow flight was really flying poorly in the cross wind.  was wondering if i should get some arrows made with lower profile feathers and the smaller diameter arrows.  I am going to KS and it always seems windy out there.  Would it make a difference?

Maybe...post what you are using now. The more feathers you have hanging out the more wind they might grab.
Good luck on your hunt..

A crosswind plays havoc with any arrow.  Skinnier arrows and smaller fletch are only marginally less affected. If your arrows shoot well for you under normal conditions, they'll work well enough in the wind.

Make sure your arrows are tuned to your bow as well as you can. A well tuned arrow should tail a little (not back and forth, but more of a "lean".)and drift slightly at typical bowhunting distances.
