Title: making a kids bow.

i am wanting to make a simple kids bow for just shooting about the garden,idealy with a 5lb pull,its for a 7 year old.is it possible to taper a piece of plywood at both ends?or will it just break?

Not sure about plywood.  You can use some of the wood strips like Lowes carries.  2" wide oak, @ 1/4" thick.  Attacha handle piece and pyrmid the limbs.  5 lbs might be light for a 7yr old.  My son is 7 and shoots a 35# recurve.  He is pulling about 30# on it.

Try and make a self bow for yourself.  

Shoot for about 50#@28"

Chances are you'll end up with a beautiful kids bow.    ;)

half inch or one inch PVC pipe.  Cut the pipe to about 3 feet, run a string threw the pipe and bend the pipe to have a brace ht of 7 inchs and tie the string.  Tape on an arrow rest and your are good to go.  My granddaughter has been using one since she was three.
