Hope to be getting a recurve soon and starting to rehab/build up my shoulder and was curious as to what's your favorite arrow rest/side plate material.

Fuzzy velcro is good. Sealskin if hard to beat.
-
I like velcro too, it's fairly tough and its cheap to replace. You can get it in the craft section at Wal-Mart.
-
Velcro on my t/d's, leather on my one pieces. That is how I get them from my bowyer, and I keep them "stock".
I have used seal skin in the past, works well, but velcro is cheap and easy to come by.

Velcro.
-
Seal skin the best. Only problem very hard to find.

Seal skin.

I am liking leather on my bows at the moment.
-
I like sealskin best, but due to availability have been using beavertail and am pleased with it.
-
Velcro is my favourite too.
And to quote Robtattoo:
Veni Vidi Velcro - I came saw and stuck around :D
-
Seal skin for the rest, calf hair for the side plate. When I run out of seal skin I am not sure what I will go to. I have had several used bows that came with velcro. Works well and holds up, but seems hard on the feathers.

petep has some seal skin for sale on the Classifieds in Arrow secton... :readit:

I find velcro wears out way too fast on my rest, so I use calfhair on my rest and leather for a side plate.
-
I have been using moose leather. Its thick and very soft and a little "spongy". I cut a piece to fit and attach it with the suede side out. It's very quiet and durable. I bought a small scrap at a leather store.
-
Leather. I prefer the slick side out.
-
Right now I'm using calf hair for the strike plate and velcro for the rest. Works well.
-
I think I'll be sticking with a weather rest from now on.
-
Soft side velcro disguising a Hoyt SuperRest painted black.
-
Smooth leather or Bear hair...
-
Seal skin...
Lasts forever....NOTHING QUIETER.
-
Mt lion hide, hair on, from the top of the paw. Hair needs to lay to the back of the bow.
-
Industrial strength Velcro on mine.
-
A Hunk of Dead Cow Skin, Slick Side out.
-
I use the calf hair rest and strike plates.

Lurp Dog, Heal fast and good luck with the shoulder! I lucked out and got a small grocery bag full of cowhide scraps from a taxidermist for free. I made "one piece" shelf rest/side plate arrow rests for our bows. Hair laying forwards of course, very nice. 2 part epoxy glue on. Cheers
