What else can I say? Other than it's been a long long time from September to, well, August. It was worth the wait. 68" 55# @ 28" Black woven glass on the back, white on the belly.

Very Nice Thanks for sharing.
An early congrats Danny. I'll bet it'll shoot as good as it looks.
Since we can't shoot it we'll need to see it.

Waiting patiently for the pictures... :coffee:
Pics ASAP!
Waiting for the pics Danny!
See ya soon,
Bisch
Bet you can't wait Danny. Sorry once again for delaying Dave on your build with all my telephone calls! ;-)
Hope it arrives soon, I'm looking forward to a full debriefing!
I'm excited for you !!
Looking forward to some pictures.
Danny ... this is one I have been looking forward too !
Cool !
What a tease, congrats on your new bow.
One down, two to go. Heck, it stinks just as bad waiting on friends to get their new bows as it does your own. Good luck Danny and can't wait to see it.
I just talked to mr miller and he said there has been a mistake. Lol he shipped it to your house instead of mine!
Kidding!!
Looking forward to seeing this too! :)
Yeah!!!! I'm one step closer to getting my Hawk on the forms and in the oven!!! Ordered in Nov.
Pics will be required Ric!
Arne
Congrats, you are going to love it.
Photo's please. Have fun with that bow!
Congrats! I'm still waiting, I think I'm still out about a month or so.
Glad its own the way. Was worried I would have to lend you a "Hill" or a "Massie". Sure would hate for you not to have a bow to hunt with. :biglaugh:
Very cool indeed!!
:campfire:
Wow. Even I'm impatient and it's not my bow! Lol
Hope it gets there soon - I've got another 8 months to wait for mine.... :-(
Congrats Ric. Can't wait to see it. Thats my dream bow.
Maybe you could wet our appetites by describing it in detail for us?
To the top with pics.......
Very nice!
Beautiful bow Ric! Well worth the wait, now we need to know how well it performs...
how about some full length and some bent pics :-)???
Wow that looks amazing!!
I might have missed it but what are the specs on it?
Nice! Hows it shooting?
Congrats on a real beauty!
That's sweet !!
I'm waiting on an OT from David.. Anxiously!
Awesome bow!
Love it! I like the straight grip as it looks classic on a Hill style
NICE! Congrats. Love the white glass! Probably too busy flingin' sticks to post more pics.
Have fun.
Any impressions on how. It shoots? They cost a bit more so does the different limb construction add something over and above a howard hill longbow. I love hill style bows too and it looks great.
Sharp looking bow Ric. What depth is the handle and is it oblong shaped like Schulz grips?
Looks great....so I have to ask, no side plate above the shelf?
very nice
Danny,
Is there a specific reason you went with woven glass on the back? If it's not too much trouble I would like to see a pic of the back.
Thanks, Pat
 classic there
Eric
Looks real nice, Danny. They are great shooting bow.
Tater -
The woven glass is because it is a cc/cv limb design. The back of the bow is actually curved as a bamboo cane with the nodes still visible. David uses the woven glass and lays it to fit the curvature of the bamboo. On other bows, the bamboo is ground flat so they can use flat over the counter glass such as Gordon or Bowtuff (sp). A much easier and quicker build. I'll get some more pics up later for you.

To quote David Miller, "The Expedition is a concave-convex bamboo and glass longbow, a true copy of Howard's personal Longbows. No arrow plate was used on Howard's personal bows, so to be more in keeping with old time archery, your bow has no side plate."
Danny
Well now I know....lol! Doesn't the arrow drag or make noise on the draw? At the shot, I can understand with the archers paradox it being alright!
Danny, absolutly stunning!!!!
You want to make room on your bow rack? If so I'll take that old beat up 300 y/o yew off your hands! Ha. Great job.
Danny ... even nicer than I thought it would be mate , and Dave Miller is a heck of a nice guy to do business with ...
That bow has looks like its made to get game !!!
awesome .....
...now sell Brian another bow before he hurts himself
Ben, You are supposed to be my voice of sanity, not drive me to the cliff. HA. Danny has great taste.
Beautiful bow Danny; hope to see it sometime.
Got a chance to shoot this beauty earlier today. Very impressed with the performance of the bow. Dead in your hand and quiet for sure. At 68" long it pulls like a dream. The grip is a little different than the standard straight grip used by Craig at HH Archery. With that said Danny also has a Hill "Tembo" with a grip very similar to what is on this Miller. Not quite the same but very close. As for "Brianlocal3" above, you better get in line for that 300 y/o yew. I shot that one today too. "Sweet" for sure. Danny doesn't have any junk. Congrats to my bud on his new bow. It was a long wait but worth it for sure. :archer2:
I'm hoping by buying all Danny's bows I can shoot half as good as him. Trying to get some of his mojo
Danny-
Congrat, you got a beautiful bow! I know what bow you're taking on thr HillGang hog hunt. :)
Danny congratulations on an exceptional work of art. David is a true master bow builder and a real gentlemam. I own three of his longbows and have another in the works soon. My last was a Hawk cv/cc but no glass and it shoots as good as it looks, you will really like your bow. Ron.
Congratulations with the Miller!
Methinks that we need pics of it in action ...
Danny ... Brother I looked at the pics again and it sure does look just sweet ... so much so that last night I broke out my ol' Tom and flung a few ...
Dave sure does build a sweet bow !
I've had a couple of sessions with the Expedition. Still getting to know the bow and its likes and dislikes. Here are a few:
Likes: Douglas fir arrows; a positive grip; good follow through; both Dacron and FF type strings (although a lighter arrow spine is preferred with the Dacron string) weighted 2114 aluminum arrows.
Dislikes: ring finger string torque (my bad), otherwise tolerant of a bad release; Danny's friends being critical of its individuality. :p
Hey Danny, is that a string follow bow? Thanks.
Ooooooo....Now that's a longbow!
Mike -
The Expedition is not a string follow bow. It does have a slight back-set to it.
Thanks Danny. I was just curious. I have an Expedition that I bought second hand and it's a backset as well. Really wish mine was a string follow, but beggars can't choose as they say. Either way David's work is impeccable and it whips an arrow downrange. Hope you're enjoying yours. Great looking piece you have there.
:scared: that's a beauty for sure!
yeah danny way cool
