I saw something Friday morning at denton I could not believe, a man and his wife in their mid 50's were at the practice range and the man had quickly shot 2 arrows, in the 10 ring and his wife lets hers fly, bingo, a robin hood, well the man starts cussing his wife like a sailer, I could not believe it, she made a great shot and he's acting like a idiot, she never said a word, but she never shot another arrow, how sad
I feel for the lady .... the right thing to do would be to high five her... also kids are around and that is a terrible example.
Sounds like he got his ego bruised and could'nt handle it. I agree, should have been high fives and hugs.
Show's he's defintly is an Idiot to talk to his wife like that but not all "real men" treat thier wives like that..Did you say anything to him about the way he treated her? For evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing!
What a shame Keith.....by the way, where were you hiding all weekend? We kept an eye out for you....lots of people there though!
If he does that in public, I hate to imagine what he does in private. Sounds like a real a-hole.
I can't believe it either. He should've slapped the #$!%&?* outta her instead! The nerve of that woman, ruining an expensive arrow like that. Jeez! :biglaugh: :archer2:
No really, like you said, that's pretty dang sad of him acting like that.
I would give anything just to have my wife take an interest in archery!
What a turd, he has no idea how lucky he is.....
Thats one thing I cant stand. I would have had to said somthin to the guy or if no kids were around beat his ears off. Then see if he would talk to me like he did his wife. We try to hit arrows when we go. Thats a shame. My wife would have shot me if I would have pulled a stunt like that.LOL

A turd is right.
With a capital "T".
Maybe no idea how lucky he used to be? Sad indeed.
Something tells me, it probably wasn't the first time. Sad!!!
Wow! That is very sad indeed.

Amen!!
I'd love for my wife to Robin Hood any of my arrows.
I bet his arrows are longer than her's. You know arrow envy :) He really needs a wake up call on taking archery so serious. I'd hate to see him coach youths. She won't have to put up long with his crap, he'll have a stroke if he flips over something like this.
She will eventually wise up and dump his sorry a$$ like she should do.
Capital T?
Nope. Strictly small case.
Killdeer

:(
Hopefully she did it on purpose....and will continue to do it.. ;) :D
Maybe he just does not know how good she really is!!
Pretty sad.
Sounds like he needed the crap slapped out of him and then make him apologize to his wife. Unfortunatly, as others have said it probably wasnt the first time something like that had happed and she would have caught the worst of it when they got home. He dont know how lucky he is to have a wife who will shoot with him and share his interests. I hope he is on this forum and reads these posts and it shames him to no end.
What a jerk.
Very sad. Unfortunately if you had said something she probably would have faced worse in private. He will get what he has coming someday. Amen to the couples that shoot together and enjoy just flinging arrows.
Hope she does it again.... Only with a blunt , and between his eyes.... Oooops, didn't me to advocate violence... I'm sure with his attitude he has been handing out for years to her. My wife's ex was one of those guys... How sad. I guess there Mommies didn't play with them enough growing up.
If you would of said something he probably have started an arguement, and you know what they say about arguing with an idiot. Some people will never get it.
When my wife shot she use to bring home the trophies not me lol. I loved it could not have been more proud.

Sad thing is she probably is used to being treated like that. If you had said something about it there is a better than even chance that she would have defended him. I've dealt with that...
He must be a member of the family I saw in a cartoon, the Ass family. One was named Wise, one was named Smart. He must be the one named Dumb.
He ought to congratulate her on a fine shot and be very thankful she has been willing to share this sport with him. Maybe she needs to find somebody a little more deserving to shoot with.
Well, I'm late as usual and everything has already been said! I would give anything in the world to have a wife that would be beside me to enjoy flining arrows together, and you can bet if she robin hooded one of mine, it would go on the wall as a trophy!!!
I feel for her, hopefully she will wise up and realize there are better men out there.
Dang i didnt realize i was being watched.....
Nah, on a serious note my GF busted my nock today...On purpose...i found it hysterical!
I probably would had conrtulated her and asked if she could do it agian for a camera. Of course she have said she could never do iit again. Thenwinked at the jerk
Or offered to pay for the arrows. Just to show him that it was an acident
I work in an airport and see this kind of crap often, mostly between parents and kids. , we often let it go, but when it is abusive i step in and get everyone's attention some place else with humor. The other passenngers tell us thanks. They wanted to to do something but couldnot. That wink i posted often makes jerks just slouch out as they find out othets are watching with interest. Nobody deserves to be treatec with such disrespect
That would be a whole lot better than the countless bouts of poison oak I've gotten from hunting down my wifes arrows. I gotta admit I've might of thrown a tantrum or two before diving into a see of poison oak or Black Berry bushes for the 20th time before 10 am
Just think how good of a shot she could be if she had a little positive reinforcement once in a while!
Like someone else said, I would love it if I could just get my wife to pick up a bow let alone shoot like that.
If you a guy gets that worked up about a broken arrow, he obviously needs to start buying cheaper arrows...or maybe just grow up a bit. Sheesh.
It astounds me, the lack of respect shown to a woman that obviously is still there, in spite of years of dealing with his bull----, sharing the ever sacred shooting of the arrow, an act beyond words, and to be standing along side that horse's patoot?? Itty Bitty Bitter Baby Boy, sho can't call that dude a man. Not by my definition anyway. Unfortunately, sometimes we need a little reminder how NOT to treat another human being, so we don't forget. Life is full of contrasts and sometimes you get to see the stupid acts of others. Me, when my wife shoots with me,I tell her how good she's doing and if she were to bust one of my arrows, I'd have the freegin' thing BRONZED!
Seems like most of us trad folks hold ourselves to a higher standard. Not to be elitist, just stating a fact.
"Be good to others"--George Carlin, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.
Poor woman.
Good for her. I hope she busts up a dozen more of his arrows this year.
VERY SAD indeed I must have missed that I was by the practice course around that time. Like was mentioned when you have a spouse that takes in interest and will participate in one of your life passions its the greatest. WHY in the hell wold you ruin it with something like that . Sounds like a creep that would act that way on anything .
Thanks for the marital advise , but after 28 years we know each other pretty well. But the fact is she could care less and can and will draw and shoot without ever breaking stride in talking and laughing with others in the group. She's there strictly for the social aspect. As for me.
I'm there just to make sure she has the arrows to make it through until the end of the day, or at least until she runs out of breath.
(Just think how good of a shot she could be if she had a little positive reinforcement once in a while!)
I started to walk up and tell her that was a great shot, but figured it would just make it worse for her in private. Allen I didnt stay long after this happened, weather,no power, my elbow just bummed me out, and this is my favorite shoot, God willing and elbow surgery success I will be back next year
Keith: Best of luck with the elbow surgery.
As for the A-hole who doesn't know his place or manners, it makes me sick. God bless that woman for putting up with his $hit, and may she go on to bust his shaft over and again.
If I'd of witnessed that, there's about a 90% chance that my wife would have witnessed it as well....My wife's a loose cannon when it comes to stuff like that and there would have been a scene.
If that was my wife I would have gave her a big kiss and dragged her right down to a store to get a win for life scratch off ticket. Maybe she'd keep the luck going and we'd be breakin arrows on moose, elk, sheep, etc. instead of targets! :goldtooth:
I was in an indoor archery range one time while a friend was teaching his wife how to shoot. She bounced an arrow off the floor or wall(don't remember which), he retrieved the arrow and broke it over his knee while calling her an idiot.
I was dumbfounded and unfortunately speechless. He was a pretty nice guy but didn't relate to women very well.
We lost contact for a few years until he called me very upset that his wife had left him for another guy, no wonder.
Sounds like a real loser. I am lucky enough to have a wife and son that love to shoot and hunt. I relish their success far more than my own. He should have congratulated her and saved the arrows to display as a trophy.
Everything has been said. He's just a a-hole.If it would do any good and she would use it,I would mail her a cast iron skillet if i had her addy.
I know a place she should put her next
arrow>>>---> the sun doesn't shine there! How sad most of us wood love a love one to share our sport, he just :banghead: crushed her spirit and BAD imgage for all male archers/ Her talint hopefully overcomes his stupidity
Shure Glad,i wasnt there.I woulda said somethin to him and he woulda said somethin back.It woulda gone back and fourth and eventually,Roadkill, woulda had to call my wife to bail me out.
I'd have taken a picture & saved those arrows.
My Wife had to quit shooting because of her shoulder. I really miss shooting with her. :(
He dosen't know what he has (had?) :dunno:
Frank
there are alot more horses asses in the world than there are horses...................
