I'm looking to get me a new full body harness.Which is the best in your opinion.Looking for one light and quiet.
Take a look at the Muddy but don't spend one extra penny on their "camo" versions. Wear it under your outer layer. Besides the camo versions have blaze orange MUDDY written on the straps.
But it is a really nice harness.
I like my Hunter Safety System harness's. I bought the original Pro series when the first hit the market. Ive since sold that one to a buddy and bought the newer "slimmed down" Pro series model...its quite a bit lighter. Id also look at the "Ultra lite" model from HSS...I do like the pockets in the Pro series though because Im only take "just enough" stuff into the woods with me and I wont carry an extra pack....everything I need fits easily into the pockets on my vest.
I wore an SOP for years, but needed to get a new harness and tried them all out at the sporting goods stores last winter. I had really thought that I would end up with the tree spider or muddy, after hearing so many good comments about them, but didn't. I didn't like the way the tree spider fit and the fact that there is no waist belt. The muddy was very cheaply made in my opinion and I didn't like their leg straps (cheap pull though) or waist buckle (no real buckle just a rectangle that you fit though another rectangle). The gorilla G-30 was nice, but smelled really strong and nothing that made it stand out as better. I ended up with a HSS pro series and was so impressed with it, bought another for my daughter, to upgrade hers as well. Hers is the lady pro has the pink trim. The are heavier than the other brands, but so much better thought out and constructed in my opinion. Nice buckles and straps, lots of extras and accessories available. I see this year there is a new one the is kinda a combination of their pro series and ultra lite called the Hybrid. I would really look closely at one of those.
I want to get one for this year but dont see why they cost so much. I understand the cost is minimal to what an accident would cost. But really why aren't they $30-$50?
I switched to the Hunter Safety Systems Lite model (black because it was cheaper) works terrific and better than the Seat Of The Pants I used prior to the switch. The old models had the heavy buckles, this one does not.
X2 on the muddy standard black.
I like the HSS pro
The folks at Summit, Seat O the Pants, are top notch to deal with. I use the SOP in my Treestand Safety Course.

X3 on the muddy...
Great product!
HSS ultralite
I'm looking hard at the HHS hybrid and the muddy.I think i may take a trip to basspro to go try them on.
The Muddy is the best way to go !

Check out the Rescue One CDS from Mountaineer Sports.
Worth every penny.
I've been looking at the stuff from 20 ft up. No shoulder straps, it is made like a rock climbing harness. From what reviews i've read it's all good.
X2 on Rescue One CDS. Suspension trauma will kill you just as fast as a fall.
This was a great thread. Thanks for all the info guys. I will be upgrading my system this fall. Just a heads up that it looks like CDS is out of business?

I ordered mine this past week. The man I spoke with was super nice and said it should ship this week. Told me to let him know how much I liked it.
Thanks for all the input guys.Very good info.
I had the hunter safety system pro series but sold it. Didn't really care for it. I picked up the hunter safety sytem ultra light , the black one, after the season last year on clearance for 60 dollars. I like it alot better.
