When ordering a custom bow I was told it is necessary to tell the bowyer whether you use a split finger or three finger draw. Would someone be kind enough to explain to me the difference in the tillering of the bow. I think I read that if using 3 fingers the upper limb has to be stiffer than the lower?
Most bowyers that tiller for 3 under will tiller hte limbs even and most for split will set the tiller at 1/8" to 3/8" positive. The upper limb will be 1/8" to 3/16" further from the fadeout then the lower limb. But you can usally just move the nock height up or down to compensate if you buy a used bow tillered either way.
