I had some time yesterday to fletch some arrows (single fletcher so one feather at a time) and watched these two old Bear video's along with some of the other old Bear movies. The Good Earth and Restless Spirit remind me of a precursor to the Primal Dreams DVD's as only Fred could do it. Fred certainly was a businessman and promoter, but he also was an outdoorsman and conservationalist and watching those two movies just puts one back in the frame of mind of what this traditional bow hunting lifestyle we all love is about.
I love my Super Shrew bows, but I'm looking forward to this falls maiden voyage (for me) of the 1971 Super Kodiak I received last winter.
Funny, I'm whatching The Oldest Game as I get some camping gear ready for a trip that I'm taking with my girlfriend!
I'll be out this year with my '66 Kodiak, wood arrows tipped with '60's greenies, Bear Bowhunters Kit and some WWII camo that I got off of a reenactors web site. Being born in '68, I feel I missed the golden age of bowhunting!
What is really crazy is that I too was watching Restless spirit on VHS the other day and thought about the similarity between it and primal dreams also!!! Weird.
