My friend and I exchanged arguments about, recurve bow and the D / R longbow. He argues that it is easier to shoot with a recurve bow, but the D / R because it is recurve more forgiving .I personally do not agree with his views, so we agreed to hear your opinion.
I own one of each. My Samick Recurve shoots faster, but my Bamabow R/D longbow shoots very straight. Both are 50#'s at 28". I do find the Bamabow to be quieter, smoother and easier to shoot. Although I do enjoy shooting the recurve as well, for me I find the longbows more enjoyable so maybe that translates into being easier for me. But I cant say that one is easier to shoot than the other, to each their own.....
Recurves, in general, are easier for me to hit with. There are variables, but, generally, I'm more accurate with them.
With that said, I just enjoy the snot out of shooting longbows. Just something about them.

I have a bunch of recurves and only one R/D longbow. It's a Pronghorn that I think I shoot better than my recurves. I think it is because of the grip and because the limbs are less susceptible to torque?
I shoot recurves better then my r/d longbows. I dont shoot bad wit hthe longbows but find them a little tricker to tune and my groups are not as tight as the recurves.
I shoot aggressive d/r longbows the best out of any bow design.
So from the current answers can conclude that for each different and it's a personal choice
