I will be getting my Toelke Lynx in a week. Recurve limbs are 47 at my 29" draw and longbow limbs are 50 at my 29" draw. What spine shaft for 47@29 recurve limbs and shooting a 125 grain head?
Thanks

I draw the same and shoot similar weight bows. I am right on the fence for spine. 28" draw really works out well with the 150 and around 50#. I find that extra 1" of shaft and couple more # draw at 29" to put me in between.
It all depends on center cut of your bow and some on limb performace. I get a big jump in spine when I go up to the 250, but 150's get a little point light. I shoot a 30" 150 in my wildcat with 125 point and a 145 point in my MOAB. I have to really load up a 5575 with like 100 insert and 175-200 point plus over 30" shaft on a 5575. The 250 is stiffer yet.
You're looking good with the 150s. My 45@28 Dakota likes the 150s with a 200-225gr bh.
I shoot 150s and 250s out of bows of similar poundage as yours and 29.5-30 inch draw length..The 250s I cut a little longer and add more point weight. With 250s I use brass 50 and 100 grain inserts and 100 to 175 grain heads.
The 150s have aluminum inserts and 125-145 grain heads
I would say go with the 150 cut to 30" with the 125 grains up front. I guessed your bow was center shot and your are using a fast flight string.
I have a47@28 Bama Expedition draw 29.5 have always shot CX 150 Heritage w 145 points!
I shot a Lynx combo Dan sent me when the bow first came out. I shot the recurve mostly (50 lbs. @my 29" draw) and it wanted quite a bit more spine than I expected. I ended up cutting .400 Beman MFX carbons down to 29 3/4" with 125 grain points. You will love the bow, I am a "longbow guy" but as I mentioned I shot it as a recurve almost the entire time I had it.
Thanks guys!!!
my titan recurve is about 50# at my 26" draw and it likes 31" 400 spine arrows with 125gr up front bareshafts fly like lazers and bullets holes through paper.
my 47# @ 26" longbow likes full length 500 spine shafts with around 175gr up front (50gr insert + 125gr tip). still trying to ge tthe tune perfect but with this set up the bareshafts are flying almost perfect and not to bad through paper.
150 Heritage or lower for a 125 grain head (and that is likely to need a 100 grain brass insert to help).
Do not mess with the 250's if you want a 125 grain head to work. 125 point shouldn't work for you even at full length on the 250's with 100 grain inserts.
You may even want the Heritage 90's if you just want the 125 grain point with standard inserts. I just tuned my bow for these Heritage 150 shafts and I needed a 100 grain brass insert plus the 125 grain point to bare shaft tune my arrows well.
Your results will be slightly different, but I hope this helps. Use hotmelt glue instead of epoxy until you are sure about inserts and point weight.
Good luck,
