I got on the list for the new 3pc. recurve Big Jim is going to start building. He has the riser designed and is ready to start working on the limbs. You know they will look and shoot awesome if he builds them.
Most definetly will be an awesome recurve.
I'll be watching. I'm a 99% recurve guy, but just bought a 2nd hand BigJim longbow. Love it.
Should be a good one. Love my buff.
A recurve from the Gentle Giant! :readit:
I was hoping for a mild reflex deflex bracing to a D... :help:
Knowing Big Jim, it will be a good one
F-Manny
Theor gonna be something special he and I have talked bout em and I cant wait to see one
Dang it,I said I was going to stop with the bow orders. Now This! :dunno:
Is there anywhere that. You can see a picture or the riser?
I looked at it in his booth at the IBO shoot today.
Yeah but we have been looking at that riser for 6 months now outlaw. :)
He says it time to get the limbs made.
I'm looking forward to seeing pics!!
Anyone have a picture of the riser that they could post?
I sent Jim an email, maybe he will post a pic.
Big Jim with a recurve, my wife is going to hate me (he he he).
I have tried every bow he makes so thought I might as well try his recurve.
any pics yet/
can't wait to see pictures.
Any pics ?
Aw this is going to be cool!
Won't be long now. Just about ready to introduce them. My shop helper Charlie has been shooting one for about two months now and likes it a lot. Says everywhere he takes it, someone wants to buy it :)
I have just gotten in the new coins I had made for the riser and have loaded the shelves with wood (they were loaded anyway). Just fine tuning a couple of asthetic issues and should be ready in January.
The first and second model of my recurves are part of a 4 model plan. I have adopted the name "Full Curl Series" for the group and individually each model will be named after a North American wild sheep.
16" riser available with limbs making it either a 56" or a 60" bow will be the "Desert Big Horn"
18" riser will handle the same limbs thus making it either a 58" or 62" bow and I'm calling it the "Rocky Mountain Big Horn".
The remaining bows will have to wait.....
I'm so excited, BigJim
No pics?
Big Jim, What will be the length of the sight window on the 18" riser?
Would anticipate this creation to be nothing short of an imaginative offering for 2014.
Very excited about this, BigJim.
Pic's Big Guy
yes lets see some pics please
Very exciting indeed!
Need to see this before i decide on 3 pc buffalo or this.....
Hope he makes a 2 piece recurve as well... Can't wait to hear how his recurve performs
Yea keep us posted. :dunno: would love to see pics. God bless.
Hey Big Jim. Any chance we could see some photos?
Photos would be nice, sneak preview.
Looking for pics.......
I should have photos in a couple of weeks. The only completed curves have not been photo worthy. Just waiting on a couple of riser jigs and it will be ready to go.
wasapt, Yes, my 50's style recurve will be available in one and two piece, but probably not for a year or so.
thanks, bigjim
Very interesting!
I'm waiting by the phone to talk about woods!!!!
I bet you are Tnbuck.. I haven't called because I'm waiting by the phone too for my last needed items.
Should be real soon I promise.
thanks, bigjim
Now if there was only a Big Jim Hill style, all would be good in the world.
Jim, are you going to have some recurves to test drive at the Pre-Spring Fling in Alabama in Feb. 2013 ?
I held one of Jim's new recurves yesterday. Will shoot them today. VERY nice bow. May sneak a pic if I can. I know I can out run the big guy ( maybe not his arrow though ) lol
The anticipation is killing me. Throw us a bone, Big Jim!
If it comes from Jim it will have to be great. He would not have it any other way. MIKE
Quite positive the big guy is more anxious than any of us to unveil his latest creation.
As a professional, he is honing and tweaking the highly anticipated design to meet not only his own expectations but to present one that either meets and/or exceeds those of the customer as well as to be production ready.
The true artisan 'Big Jim' will stick tight until the creation culminates in virtual perfection.
What Friend said. ( I think ) :dunno:
I bought one !!!
Photos!!!!!?????
I'm ready to lay the money down for a new recurve, but the introduction of this bow is holding me back. I can just imagine buying one of the 3 i've got rounded down to and then feeling lime a toad for not waiting for this one to come out.
I will post some in a bit. I am in awe of it. Very unique look and the best friggin grip ever !
:campfire:
I went to the SC Trad shoot near lake Marion this weekend. Took my Bear TD and Widow PL. No intentions of buying anything. Then the big guy pulls in and starts to unload. Out comes the bows, I start looking them over, the thunder child, buffalo and then he says hey look at these. Out comes the recurves we have heard about. I fondle it, shoot is several times over the next day along with his thunder child and buffalo. Can't make up my mind if I want the buffalo or the new recurve. What the hell life is short, bought both !!!
First guy to buy one of his recurves, pretty cool.

I love the grip. I also really like the way the limbs roll over into the riser.
How about some limb pics.
One of the things I noticed is the fade of the limbs. It is up the limb a bit. It makes for a pretty darn fast bow. I can not wait to get out in the yard tomorrow and tune it up
I will add some more pics and info as I get her dialed in.
The buff is also awesome. I love my BW PL but the grip on the Buff is much nicer to me.
Both bows are 50 @28, Buff is 62" the BH is 60"
I would love to see a shot of the tips.
Dang thats sweet  :clapper:
Nice Mark!
I will take some better pics tomorrow. It's hard to really see the grip in these pics. It is sweet
I saw these bows at the shoot this weekend as well. No offense OBX but your pics don't do them justice! His new bow quivers are awesome too!
Man the new recurve is awesome.....I can't say enough about the grip....could not want a better grip on a bow. Super smooth draw, and of course the craftsmanship is there. Top notch bows for sure.
I agree my pics suck. I will do better.
Awesome looking recurve!
Coin slot limb bolt?
Do you have a full length profile pic?
Great looking bow!
Sweet curve!!!
Kip I know you're a thunderchild fan and i shot the them a good bit. I bet one of those will be on my rack someday too
Would love to see a side profile pic, hint hint lol
I will post one tomorrow.
Nice bows Mark !
Got the call from Jim this morning, should have my new recurve next week.I'm really looking forward to getting it after talking with him about the performance he is getting out of them.
I took mine to the woods all day today trying to get some blood on it. Had a hog growl at me from the swamp but he was on a little island and I could not get to him.
Photo bucket is giving me fits trying to upload pics.
I shot it for about an hour. Only had to raise the nock a bit. Shooting FMJ 400's full length with reg inserts and 125 gn heads. arrow is around 500 gns and flys great. Dead quiet. Couple more days with her and I think I will have some other bows up for sale.
This is what was on my camera from the night before.

these pics say 640x480 in photobucket but look big here
The bow is beautiful. I hope my all zebra buff gets here today!!
Yep too big, right click on them, check properties. Real nice looking bow.
I'm using a Mac and it won't let me check their size. Frustrating
If you make changes in photobucket (like resizing) there is a lag time, so to speak, before the changes will be displayed here. It's not your fault, it's not your computer's fault, it's pb's fault!
While in pb, you'll see the images displayed correctly but when you copy the link here you will see the unresized picture. For whatever reason it takes time for pb to make the change permanent.
The only way I know to overcome this problem is to make your changes, save them, and then wait an hour before posting them here (if you want to use pb). Otherwise, check out Imgur.com as an alternative to pb.
OH MY!!!! Hope he brings one to the shoot at Kerr Scott Dam in April.
propertys show 1024 wide. Great pics though.
God bless you all,
Steve
Mark you're right I love my TC's and my Buff but I think you will see one of these Curves next to them soon :)
I'd like to see the 2 pieces recurve :bigsmyl:
That should be a looker
