Here are a couple of pictures of a new ILF riser I had made with a custom grip. Lonnie of ILF Custom Bows was able to match my grip request perfectly. I had it made as a 17" riser to be used as my hunting rig this fall as a 58" bow (with the short limbs) and my 3d rig as a 62"(with long limbs) bow next summer.

Wow, that's different. Have you shot bows with that type of grip before?
Nice! Did you send him a grip to copy or work it out some other way?
I have a Jager Best Grip on my Hoyt Excel and love it. I made about 6 or 7 stencils of that grip and he used those stencils to shape this grip. Lonnie is very good with shaping grips. If you have one you want shaped he could come very close if you provided pictures and measurements. This grip is angled to one side and the stencil I made allowed him to match it perfectly. I thought about having the riser made so I could put a Jager Grip on it but was told the riser would be too thin at the handle to be safe so that is why I had him shape the wood to my stencils.
SWEET grip ;) is it cut past center?
Yes, it's actually cut 1/4" past center to allow the use of a plunger button. We started with an extra wide riser block and machined the dovetail inserts off center so the sight window could be made with extra clearance while still maintaining plenty of thickness for strength.

Wow nice riser
Here is the standard grip, very different than John's riser.
