Just got a Samick Sage 45# recurve, a box target, and some sale arrows from Cabelas (which I have since learned are way too long and stiff) and have been practicing in the backyard. I have since discovered I should get 1916 arrows.
What tools do I need to cut arrows, install nocks, inserts, and feathers, etc. and can someone point me to a guide on how to do all this? Thanks.

It is past my bedtime. You will need a fletching jig, hot melt glue (I get mine at the hobby store), Duco or Fletch Tite, and access to an arrow saw.
Try using the search engine here for threads on arrow assembly. There may be some useful stuff in the How To forum as well.

How about a book? The Traditional Bowhunters Handbook by T.J Conrads. It's available from Trad Bowhunter Magazine.
3 rivers has a few how to's, there's the how to section here, you tube can be helpful also. Just enjoy yourself as you learn the fun stuff.
You need to get a fletching jig, some fletch tape, fletch tite glue, access to an arrow saw, and hot melt glue. For how to's I would go to 3Rivers and the how to forum here on tradgang and ask plenty of questions.
If you're shooting aluminums, all you need is a cheap tube cutter to cut the shafts. No arrow saw needed!
Thanks everyone. I was a little confused by what I read on arrow saws, high speed cutters, and tubing cutters, but it sounds like I just need a tubing cutter for aluminum arrows.

I used to cut my aluminums with a dremel tool and a small cutting wheel,, for field points it was fine Broadheads I'd have someone do it on a shaft cutter so the inserts would be perfect and the broadheads wouldn't wobble.
I say do this,,,, call 3 rivers and tell them you need 6 1916 bare shafts that have inserts and nocks (maybe the other 6 can be fully fletched to your minimum draw length "see below?) .
So 1st get one of those store bought arrows and put the center of the nock on your chest and then stretch your hand out down the shaft and have someone mark the shaft where the tip of your middle finger is,,, this is your Basic draw length..
take that measurement and have 3 rivers make the 1st arrow as long as that to BOP (back of Point) then have them cut the next 5 arrows each 1/4" longer so (28..28 1/4.. 28 1/2.. and so on for 6 arrows this is going to eliminate so many future problems and guess work and in the end save you a ton of money--> these shafts will be your best friend for now..
after you get these shafts you'll bare shaft tune your bow and we here or PM me can walk you thru it so you'll find the perfect arrow and have your bow set up as best as it can.. I can even talk to you on the phone while your doing it live.
1st is your minimum arrow length its very important because if they end up being too short they are useless and you CANNOT watch the arrow on the shelf or TRY not to over draw it because its short when shooting it just doesn't work.
