Dang that looks good Terry.
Sautée onions in butter to the point of carmelizing. Add a bit of red wine to deglaze the pan, and some elderberry jelly. Simmer a little with a spoonful of flour, de-lumped. Serve as gravy over game and mashed potatoes.
I always take berry or whole cranberry jelly to camp. Homemade makes it taste better.
Killdeer
Elderberry jelly??? Why use your wine making supplies for jelly, ugg.

Terry doesn't have an accent Curt, you do! :)
Yes I do Biggie...but when you have to share with 3 women....ya gotta sweeten them up just a bit...the Allegro cut it a bit so it wasn't real sweet...just a hint of candy...that way we were all happy.
Cooking for the crowd-the sign of a true cook. Ron LaClair loves sweet flavor/soft apples in his pie at Shrewhaven Camp. My fellow lead cook Greg and me like tart/firm apple pie-therefore I make one sweet and slow cooked in a cast iron pan in the oven and one tart. Everyone is happy.
Mighty fine looking fare Mr. Green. I agree with Roger Norris' comment-I can smell that picture.
