My buddy and I are headed off to BC with United Guide and Outfitters in late Sept. I will have my Fedora xcellerator at 53 lbs with 605 gr carbons and old Magnus Journeymans 135 gr along with my handmade Nessmuk style skinner, Uluchet, bowhunter pocketknife, 14 year old KOM wool and some 100% DEET. Dress for snow but be prepared for mosquitoes is my motto. Oh yes, lots of wood arrows with blunts for grouse. Any sage advice?
You are right Alan "dress for snow and prepared for mosquitoes",one day in T-shirt,next day dressed like a bear.Good luck and take lots of pics.

One of the best things I took to Ontario last September was a Shannon's Bug Tamer jacket. I don't know how the insects are in BC, but I wouldn't even think about going up north without one.
Beachbowhunter and I will be one year behind you - really looking forward to hearing the stories of your hunt! You must be getting stoked!
On a caribou hunt I got chewed up on the downwind side of my face by no see ums when it got about 42 degrees F, looked like I had smallpox. I will take bug dope if I go to Antartica. I plan to take my Shannon bug tamer, it is my favorite turkey hunting top also. Whip, I will probably fill in everyone when I get back.
