i just got a new bow and it said to set the bow with a positive tiler, anywhere from an 1/8-3/8. can someone please explain what would be the difference from the 1/8 to the 3/8.
Measure perpendicular from the string to tip of the the fade out on both the top and bottom limb. A 1/8 positive tiller means that the top limb will measure 1/8 inch more than the bottom limb, and so on. 3/8-inch positive tiller means that the top limb measurement will be 3/8 inch more than the bottom limb. On most bows, about 1/8 to 1/4 positive tiller is about right. In short, it means that the bottom limb is set up a little stiffer than the top limb.
