Has anyone ever tried using this clear car wax as a feather waterproofer? I just put some on some arrows I had lying around and it seems to work really well. I know this stuff will bead water on paint in the New Mexico sun for over six months! It did not seem to change the feel of the feather and when I put it under running water it just beaded up and fell off like the hood of my vehicle. I am interested to see how this will work since I don't really like the powdered stuff.
Thankfully, we are needing some waterproofer here since the monsoon season mercifully has started.
I'd buy some if it would bring some rain here. How did you apply it?

I just put a little on a rag and wiped it across the feathers.
It may make the feather stiff in cold temps.
What's "rain"..? :confused:
Does it have any odor when dry? I have been using a tire spray that works well but it smells a little.

Good question there but if someone has any maybe they could spray one or wipe one with it and put it in thier deep freezer and see how it shoots as soon as they remove it or a few minutes after they remove it... :jumper:
I'd love it if my feathers got wet right now. Anyway...I use a product called No Snow. It's a spray. You don't need alot, and it works great.
The other day I was heading out to look at a bow and saw a little thundershower about 30 miles off, I went as fast as I dared with my little 750 Bmw to just smell rain. I should have taken my helmet, there was hail under it. I use Scotch Guard on my feathers, just a light mist and no more.
