I'm on the list for a new Big Jim bow, and have been thinking about a wood combo that might look sorta strange, but I'm hoping that someone might have a bow with dalmation ebony and purple heart. There is a method to my madness; dalmation ebony comes from SE Asia, and the mixture of that and purple heart would have some meaning to me from a time when Uncle provided me with an all expenses paid trip to that part of the world, and I returned with a purple heart, among others.
Am I nuts to think that this combination might work, or should I stick with my original choice of western juniper, which is indicative of the west and where I choose to live?
If anyone has a bow with the ebony/purple heart combo, I would love to see one.
I'll be honest,IMO only....I think they will clash. centaur,I would check with the big man also on his availability of the dalmation. I am waiting for a call real soon as well. And the last I had heard he was out of that wood. Good luck anyway, rat'
I think it would take a special kind of person to like it. How do you feel about this outfit?

OK, THAT did it! Any other suggestions for an Asian wood that would work with purple heart??
Lots of bamboo in SE Asia
 Oh brother that's a good one.
Centaur, you may want to think about resale also. With that said, you know a lot of woods have many different looks so don't give up on your purple heart get online and try to find some you think may not be too "Pimp"
I like the bamboo idea from a 'Nam standpoint.
Here's some purple heart with bocotte.

I like the bamboo also, but I have never seen a Big Jim bow with bamboo. I'm going to have to call the big guy and see if that is a possibility.
Who'd have thought a pic like THAT could have anything to do with bowhunting?
I was just joking around. It actually might look good.
