I've been wanting a straight-handled 2-piece longbow for awhile now and finally asked Nate to build me one. I wanted the entire bow in black walnut with clear glass, no locater, and 70" long. I asked Nate to pick the rest out for me and he added buffalo horn for accents and tip overlay.
I received it this weekend and am extremely happy with the result. This is now my favorite Bama. It is smooth, quiet, and looks amazing. The takedown system with the graphite is awesome. Fits snug when it should and isn't that difficult to remove when necessary.
I'm a fairly tall guy (6'4") and absolutely love the 70" length, especially at 47# at 30". I also have large hands so the grip is nice and thick. The walnut made for super smooth shooter. It is my favorite wood by far.
Nate even nicknamed it the "Sniper" for me. I've been preaching to the Bama choir for several years, but he truly outdid himself on this one. I can't say enough about it.

Great looking Bama
Congrats on a great looking bow.
You are making me want a 2-piece real bad!
Very fine looking bow..!
I have a couple of Longbows with Black Walnut limb core it's under rated as a bow wood in my opinion.
Thanks guys! I had a black walnut CORED bow before and absolutely loved it. I usually order Elm but I think I like the walnut better. That bow was smooth too.
Pretty bow.
I like it a lot.
Good looking bow!
fortunately for me the bow came to my house my wifes side of the family had reunion and Nick was staying at our house! Gotta say this is one smooth shooting longbow, plus the Walnut veneers and riser are outstanding looking! I shot several spines of wood arrows and some 3555 GT carbons through this bow and it shot them all real well very spine friendly bow! I had never shot a 70in longbow before this one I really liked shooting that length!
I was really skeptical about the 70" length AND the straight handle but now that is all I care to shoot. This one is particularly smooth. I really had him taper those limbs down toward the tips - kind of like the original Bama Hunters used to be. I love that feel.
Nice bow nick . I like the looks of black walnut, my favorite wood next to hickory. I'm going to try hand planing some shafts from some black walnut from a few logs I had my buddy run through his portable saw mill for a previous woodworking project. I have a little left over, and thought i might try making a few shafts.
Nice one and right at my specs.....LOL!
You can't beat the looks of black walnut, beutiful bow, great choice. I want one just like it.
That is a fine looking bow.
Nice bow!
I've got four Bamas. I understand your enthusiasm in the brand. I am glad to know that he is building excellent common draw weight bows. He has built some incredible performance heavy bows for me and my friends. I have three 100@28 bows (64&66" Hunters and a 58" Expedition)by Nate and now I have purchased a 50@28 Royal Expedition for my fiancée. My 66" is the nearly identical big brother to your bow. He is truly a talented bowyer and good people. Best of luck with your new bow.
Very nice. Sniper is fitting as well
Man, that is a beautiful bow. I hope you enjoy it.
