Gents,
Let's see some pics of your D bows! I'm looking to place another order and some examples from some of the fine bowlers out there could well give me the inspiration I need.
To get things started here are my two current bows- a Half Breed and a Cheetah. (http://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p485/Ross7002/2012-02-23_15-06-21_825.jpg)
i don't think they come any better looking than the two you have already got !
... fine looking bows sir !
In 2010 I saw a pic of someone's Howard Hill on here that I thought was just awesome looking. So I made one that looked like it - black glass on the back, clear glass over curly maple on the belly, and cocobola riser. My craftsmanship certainly isn't on parr with Craig Ekin's, Steve Turray's, David Miller's, Nate Steen's,or Dave Johnson's but I still prefer the looks of this bow over any that I've made before or since.
Here's some pics.

Shrew Hill

Is that a curly piece of myrtle in that Riser, Ron?
Now that I am starting to get the hang of the straight grip, I will be looking for an opportunity to shoot another ShrewHill.
Killdeer
That bow looks fine, John. Your showing some skills there.
Man, I have to learn how to post pics.
That Shrew Hill is nice - really like the chocolate grip with brown glass and (I'm guessing) a myrtle riser...
C'mon fellow Hill bow fanatics - keep 'em coming....

Yes it is, Gregg found a nice piece of curly myrtle that he's been using. I don't know how much of it he has left... :dunno:

That was with your feet, right? :dunno:

I'm shooting a 70" Redman with my 27 1/2" draw and have ordered a 68" Northern Mist. Not sure why I went to 68 vs 70 other than I feel that I may not be getting the full benefit of the limbs. Steve, I see you got a 70, any particular reason for you. I love the 70, it gives me something to lean on but looking for advice because I have plenty of time to change my mind.
Kind of hard to beat the sirroco, or legendstick in my opinion.
Not really a "Hill" bow, but it is pretty much a slightly shorter r/d bow that takes a "D-shape" when strung. (62" inventory Protege bow). Our goal when designing this model was to maintain some of the traditional attributes of the D-shaped bow, as that style bow wins major respect in terms of quietness, durability, and stability. This is what we came up with (although when unstrung it doesn't have the traditional lines of most D-shaped bows).

you know, I've never found an interest in hill style bows. But lately I've been thinking about getting my feet wet.
The reason is because of this bow that Raging Water owns. Just looking at it go me to thinking that maybe I could try a HH bow.

You might regret it.... I had one for a few months that was too heavy for me so I sold it. The problem is I fell in love with the striaght grip that most have. Now none of my other bows feel right... I'm just gotta get another hill. It's hard to hide a 6ft. stick from the boss for too long.... :knothead:

I hear ya, brother. I can't keep pretending that I'm building Hill style bows for other people and then sneaking them into my collection. She's starting to notice. :bigsmyl:
