Title: Bow quivers for takedown recurve?
Post by: Medina1 on July 07, 2012, 02:26:00 PM
What kind of quiver can I put on my T/D recurve bow? I like the selway limb bolt type but the bow has antler knobs and I'm not sure if it will work with those. The bow doesn't have any inserts but I'm not opposed to installing them if anyone knows of a how to article or video. Thanks.

great northern quick mount will work just fine and you should be able to use your antler knobs

I used antler knobs with a limb bolt selway quiver, with no problems.

I have five different bow quivers. All of them are well made and have lots of fans. I just can't stand a quiver attached on my bow when I shoot.

If the bow quiver doesn't come off easily for hanging in the tree I don't use them.

My favorite set-up is a bow quiver (Habu) that I've attached a simple strap too and just carry over my shoulder. It isn't as handy carrying as a bow quiver.

I got my Big Jim quiver in the mail today. I've already shot a few dozen arrows through it. Loving it so far

Check out batman's thread on the new Kanati Double ARC it is available in an easy to remove strap-on model, side mount, or limb bolt attachment with the Pro Hood (foam) or the original flat style hood the Slim Jim. It also sports a innovative hanger which can be used to hang the bow and quiver or the quiver by itself. And with it's adjustablity it should fit most any bow nicely.

:scared:  Jeff, I'm not sure that's the intended purpose of one of Big Jim's or anybody's bow quiver. They are designed to hold your arrows, not as a target!!    :biglaugh:

Because the bow is a takedown doesn't mean you have to use the limb bolts to fasten the quiver to the bow. I have used several takedowns (currently a Pinnacle II riser with black max limbs) but prefer to use our (EFA talon grip) limb wrap system. It's easy to install or remove without having to take the bow apart or unstringing the bow.

Haha, I worded that funny didn't I?

I do really like the quiver, though!  :)

I prefer the Great Northern Quick Mount version....some mounts go under bolts in limb but you never remove them and can get extra sets for other take downs if you like fairly cheap.  Then you just loosen knob on GN supplied hardware to slide the quiver on and off....

I second the quivers from Anneewakee Archery that John Dill makes he has so many designs and set ups you can find exactly what ya looking for and colors to match your bow if you prefer...If that doesn't suit you there is Great Northern, with different set ups, Selway,E.f.a., Big Jim, Thunderhorn, and others that you may or may not like but just take a look at that new Kanati that's posted here by Batman that John made...
