Some will recognize the shop pictures if not the bow itself.
This is another bow sold by Trad Gang!
It is LH, 60", 49#@26" and 43#@26". BW Ebony riser, limb back veneers and accents. There are two layers of carbon in these limbs. The limb face is carbon.

Pretty bow Roy! Beaut!
Great looking bow..really like the Black and White Ebony..bet it shoots as good as it looks..!
cool
I wonder where I have seen that Bow before, :dunno: You have good taste in bow woods. RW
Looks like Kirk did it again...very nice!
A few more details:
Grip throat is 4.75".
Riser is 16" (shorter to make a 60" bow with "62" limbs).
I asked Kirt to install a Bear Compass (black) below the grip on the window side.
Yep, Roy ... my wife is going to block both your and Billy's e-mails and posts. She's terrified one of you is going to buy a Harley next!
I hadn't planned on the extra, lighter set of limbs but like Everest, 'they were there'.
Here are more pictures.
I don't think Kirk will mind me sharing that he had reservations about adding the Compass to this riser. I love these compasses and because this bow has quite a lot of black accent I thought it would look good. Of course Kirk's final words to me were "it is your bow".
Kirk is satisfied too I think.
This fellow (Kirk Lavender) has been a pleasure to communicate with as this bow was being built. He and I discussed many things about many aspects of this bow. I learned a lot and my appreciation for the bowyer's craft has been further enhanced.

Nice
So that's what it looks like when you check every option box on the order form :biglaugh:
Pretty cool!!
Thanks a bunch for the kind words Roy. :)
Yup...... When i first saw that little plastic compass i said out loud "There ain't no way, no how, I'm going to inlay a cheesy plastic compass into a piece of Black and White ebony... period!"
But....I'm an old softy i guess. Now that it's said and done, it didn't come out looking half bad really.
For quite some time I've had requests for a shorter Sas recurve as well as the TD Sas long bow. I just started building the "Sweet 16" riser this last winter, but hadn't tested any RC limbs on it yet. Roy volunteered to field test the first 60" TD Sas RC for me.
I'm thinking to myself.... "Good grief, most guys are going to think I'm nuts building prototype limbs with Ebony veneers."
Well the limbs really aren't prototypes, but any time you start messing with different riser lengths, and limb lengths, you start changing the geometry. I was quite confident we could pull this off with Roy's 26" draw length with no worries. What i wasn't expecting was the enhanced performance, and much better string angle than i anticipated.
Of course i took a little extra time testing these first few sets of limbs. I would not hesitate at all to build this 60" model for a 30" draw length now. I'm seriously impressed with the results. I think you will be too Roy.
Check out the string angle at 30" here. I still need to run the DFC chart. but a picture is worth a 1000 words. For you discriminating eagle eye types out there, please keep in mind that she was still needing a bit of limb balancing in this tiller tree shot. but you'll still see the string angle.

Here is one more riser picture that really shows the grip angle well. This grip was rather challenging to scale down to Roy's hand tracing and still get the right look to it.

Beautiful work and gorgeous veneers. I think the level that you two worked together to pull this bow off speaks volumes about your dedication to your craft Kirk, and your commitment to your customer.
That's a really awesome looking bow.
Kirk, like all your bows, this is a beauty and no doubt a magnificently performing machine.
I can imagine the hesitation of dropping a piece of plastic and water in a piece of B&W, the care to get that block to an unchecked and workable piece alone would cause ulcers...
That is one all-out, bad-dude-lookin' bow!
And Mr. Bigfoot has pretty good penmanship, too... No joke; it adds a classy element to that bow!
It's always good to see Kirk's work on display. I've never handled nor shot one, but I've got a pretty good idea that those bows are done right.
SWEEEEEET
Looking forward to my 58" Sasquatch TD coming shortly. I checkout every post and review of Big Foot and get that much more excited! :jumper:
SOS Roy,that thing is beautiful, congrats for the woods of choice and to Kirk work.
Roy...as a buyer of a few of your bows, I can't wait till you sell this one to me!
Kirk, sent you a PM. Will
Wow, that is a looker!
What a stunning bow... :notworthy:
WOW!!!
An eye catcher for sure.
EVEN pretty bows want to hunt...drag it up a tree like the rest of your bows...push your way through the brush like the rest of your bows...
HUH.....maybe Kirk better chime in on this again.
Kirk said he was sending it to me, then I was suppose to send it on to you after I played with it for a week or so :dunno:

Thats just sick!!!!! Newfangled language for simply deliciously awsome!!!
Kirk everytime I see a strung profile of a Squatch I thinknow thats just one nasty looking bow. Exactly what a bow limb should look like at brace.
God bless you all, Steve
Sweet!!!
Great looking bow.
The Sasquatch arrived.
I had been planning to make another bow my go to for a hunt that begins August 6th. However, after shooting and comparing my new Sasquatch I've changed my line-up.
With a Digital Pro Chrony I documented the following readings this morning.
Sasquatch 49#@26": 180, 176, 179 = 178.33 FPS.
(This draw weight is a bit higher on my digital scales than reported above.) This was with a Beman Classic MFX 600 spine arrow weighing 413 grains. I'm going to be hunting with Beman MFX Classics but weighing 507 grains and 500 spine.
Of all my recurves this bow racks up more FPS than any other.
This is very good news because I can get slightly better performance with the Sasquatch at 4 pounds lighter draw weight! Also, the Sasquatch is more pleasant to draw and hold and feels more smooth.
The Sasquatch is infinitely more photo-friendly.
Of all the bows I've handled these past three years as I returned to recurves, I am the most satisfied with this one. My thanks to fellow lefties RW and Billy and of course Kirk, the bowyer.
The bow pictured above wasn't quite finished when the pics were taken. The grip is a bit different (very close to BW PCH) and the finish is satin but highly polished.
Congrats Roy...She is beyond enticing.
Extremely artful work Kirk!!
Parts of the bow are stunning, to me. The G-10 (did I get that right) I-beam makes the riser look disjointed and out of balance to me. The top and bottom of the riser looks disportionately large compared to the narrow racing lines of the grip. I think I will want some type of overlay on the i-beam when I get my Sasquatch! :D Wish I could make it to Denton to see some of these bows. They don't look anything at all like a Bear recurve. ;)
Well you know what they say owl bait.... even negative advertizement, is good advertizement.
Actually i do build these risers with a G-10 I-beam and a matching wood overlay in the sight window for those that would like it.... Personally i like that jet black shelf cut out, and so do quite a few others looking at my order list. I could inlay your name in mother of pearl on a bow for you if you'd like....
The "Bare recurve" remark made by the narrator on the "Hunting with Sasquatch" TV show will be straightened out in the next show. i just got a call from the producer today.....
There is another episode where Laramy takes a Bison with that Obsidian long bow coming up. and I'll get credit for building that "long bow" on that show.
Sorry you can't make it to Denton hill Mike.
(owl bait) But if you give me some specs, I'll send you a bow to run through the paces any time.
if i don't have anything in stock that fits, I'll build one to your specs..... Kirk
Thats a ridiculously nice bow!
Thanks Kirk! I certainly didn't want it to be negative, just an observation. That's why I'm anxious to see one in person. Photos and actual, in the hand comparisions can be as different as night and day. I have to drive to my little hunting shack to watch the show, so I'll try to keep it on the schedule. I'll check out your stock bows after Denton, you probably won't have any left and will be filled up with custom orders! Have a great trip to Pennsylvania.
Great functional work of art Kirk!
