Title: Dipping Carbon Shafts?
Post by: Kentucky Jeff on July 03, 2012, 10:10:00 AM
I have a question for you guys who dip your carbon shafts.  What do you use to plug the holes to keep the paint from getting inside the shaft?

DO you just sacrifice some nocks?

What?

Thanks,

JKS

I was wondering the same thing. Was thinking about using ear plugs - the smooth, ribbed ones; not the foam.

Three rivers used to offer rubber plugs for dipping aluminums. Not sure if someone has something similar for carbons or not.

there's a product called "little reds" for plugging the ends of carbon shafts. comes in 2 sizes, small and large. Bohning also offers rubber tips for inserting in the nock end.

Not sure who carries them...I stocked up from my Distributor when I was making custom arrows.
