Earlier last week, my wife and I were driving home from the CTA shoot and I was voicing my frustration about how my work load had increased with my construction business and it was impacting my bow building. I had been enjoying the slowing economy, but now things were ramping back up. We had planned on dumping the construction business, but that was originally going to coincide with a move. When she suggested that I just shut it down NOW, I was more than a little surprised. After talking about it for several hours, I agreed (it is wonderful to have a supportive wife!). It'll take me a couple of months to get all of my obligations wrapped up, but come September, the only sawdust I'll be making will be bow-dust! YAHOO! :D I'm looking forward to being able to even better serve the trad crowd!
That is awesome!

Good for you South!
Congrats to both of you on a tough decision. After shooting my Scout I am thinking about a recurve too.
Good to hear South. Looking forward to your next creation.
You will have more time for hunting the majestic mule deer as well!
It was good to meet you at the CTAS shoot.
Wow, congrats South. I am happy to hear the building business was picking up as well. Maybe the economy is starting to turn around. We are a year behind California here though so might still be awhile.
 :clapper: Good on ya!
Even more GREAT bows to drool over? Best of luck South!
Congrats again Bud!! What a great feeling!!
Glad to hear business is going well. I hope this means you can hunt more. Life is too short.
Mixing work with passion must be quite fulfilling.
Congrats!
Congrats!!!
Way to go South!
 I hope it works out well for you, and doing something you love is really important!!
Congrats!!
Congrats .... wish you the best of continued success in your bow business. :archer2:
Congrats, South! Your whole life will get better and happoer!
Bisch
Congrats!!
Thats kinda how it went with me South, but I didn't get to decide. The economy in MI went away so fast that after many years carpentry work and custom home building, I was "able" to go into bow making full time.
Best of luck to you and your family and the Stalker bow line.

Congratulations! Now I can use the excuse of "I'm helping them out." to buy a new bow! :readit:
Sounds like a positive for all. fewer nails to drive (or none) for you, and more bows for us!
Nice! I didn't realize you were juggling two jobs, thought is was full time bows. It makes your turn around time for bows and customer service even more impressive. I hope your decision turns out great for you.
hey hey that is good news!!!!! congrats man!

Congrats, as they say " find something you love, then find a way to make a living doing it and you'll never work another day"

Awesome South! Exciting times for Stalker Recurves!!!
The only downside is that I'll miss the "windshield time" phone calls. :D
This is great to hear! All the best and much Aloha -Ryan
Congrat's on the Great decision South!!!
AND... a very SPECIAL Congrat's for scoring such a supporting Wife!!! Good on ya...
...now go and buy her something nice :D
You are lucky with such a nice wife, congrats.
That is a great feeling! I know it all to well. You will do good! Scott
It was the same for me as well, I had been doing the bow and supply business since 1998 and running a meat market for a company that I was with for 28 years. It got to the point that I that I knew I needed to make a move because I had gone as far with both as I could like it was. So in September of last year I hung up my butcher knives for a drawknife and have not looked back. Doing it full time gives you so many options at doing it and other things as well. The thing that will make it work for you is that you know your business and its not like stepping out and starting up a bow business from scratch, you already have it going on.
For me it has allowed me to trap full time in the winter which is something that I have always wanted to do since I was a kid and the difference really showed on my fur check from this year.
Good luck and you will have a ball!
Mike

Congrats South ! Working at what a person enjoys doing makes life better and having a wife that is supporting is awsome. We enjoyed meeting you at CTAS. good luck on all your hunts Dan

Congrats, South
Sounds like its coming together--good on you! :clapper:
Everybody should be able to do what they like best. Congrats for a good wife and I am glad to hear that economy there is looking up.
We all can do with some more jobs around the world.
Happy for you.

Congratulations on what will no doubt be a wise decision. With construction business picking up, the economy can't be too far behind.
Right now I'm nearing the end of a "try everything" period and now need to unload 6 or 7 bows I bought used before ordering a another new one, but I checked out your website and I have to say you sure did that right!
I've heard people talking about "South" and his bows ever since I joined this group and I have heard nothing but good. I think there could be a new Banshee in my future.
Best of luck.
Ron
This might be good for me I have been looking at your bows thinking about buying. I want to shoot one first. I am going to try to make it out to Denton hill, are you going to be out that way?
Congrats South. Now is the time to make the big move to Colorado too. You know you want to.
That was fun shooting with you at CTAS. I look forward to the same next year.
Very happy for you South! Congrats to you and your family for being able to pursue what is so obviously a passion for you full time!
Best of luck!
