Wow. Some great shooting in the first round. This week we will shoot only 2 arrows sitting on a stool/bucket/chair at 10 yards. Good luck!
Yeehaw, I will do it tonight!
Matt
What if two guys get two 10's. Is there a tie breaker?
Matt
Hmmmm, don't think I'm getting enough back tension on this shot. Need to practice this one a whole lot more. Sitting on a 5gal bucket. Looks like a 14. I shoulda listened to Matt about target setup :knothead:

I think we should make a rule that warm ups are allowed unless it is specifically stated that they are not. it seems like a lot of the thread starters from both years forget to specify (me included)
:readit: :readit: :readit: :readit: :readit: :readit: :readit: :readit:
I blame not warming up for my score of 10!!!! :saywhat:
Is it too late to join in the fun?
Come on in PowDuck. If you want to catch up post wk 1 and wk2 here.
Think I'll jump in as well if nobody minds. I'll do both here shortly and post them up.
Ok, here we go
Week 1 Score of 24

Week 2 score of 14. Ignore the holes to the right. I shot those from 12 yards then came back and read the directions :knothead:

Here's an 18. (http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad183/wclooper/2012-06-29201437.jpg)
I keep forgetting to get some new plates, so this one's got a few extry holes.
Got a 16 this week :) I think I have found my ideal hunting distance, 10 yards and sitting on my behind :D .
Elknutz's comment about back tension actually helped a lot. Its something I really need to concentrate on when I shoot. Also shooting my heavier bow this week which strangely seems to have improved my accuracy.
16 :dunno:
heres a 18 its sloppy because i practice on plates as it is so i had to rough out this one by hand while tracing other lines from last weeks lol
i may be aiming a tad small is the 10 a quarter or nickle? mines about a nickel size (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8168/7470394052_a204741d79.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/32969666@N08/7470394052/)
Sure show that I have not been shooting.
Keep modifying the bow, hopefully by the time we finish this me and the bow will be ready for the hunt.
14 for me.
(http://images.imagelinky.com/1341068365.JPG) (http://images.imagelinky.com/1341068365.JPG)
At least i was consistent with two 6's.
Score of 12 (http://%20 [/IMG]
May I jump in too? I like to try this.... looks like FUN. If so, I shoot tomorrow week 1 and 2.

Woooweeee!! I shoulda' used my warm up target, but there were too many holes in it! :banghead: , just not so good shooting. :dunno:

Ok, finally got some plates to shoot and rigged a backstop for field points( I normally shoot Hammers at ping pong balls).
Week 1's target - 26 points
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v88/PowDuck/Archery%20Stuff/5ff09256.jpg)
Week 2's. Is it 10 or 14? How do I score lines? Up or down?

Looks like a 12. Tried shooting with a glove this week rather than a tab. Felt more comfortable, but the results were about the same.

Okey, here I go... 2 shots at time.
Week 1,
28 points to Finland. 2nd and kneeling shots in same hole.
Week 2,

12
Camera and computer not playing nice today...pulled first shot on release into the 4 ring, ugh. Second shot drilled the 10 ring dead center.
14 total for this week.
Eric
Hey guys, count me in. I'll get both weeks on here today. yiipppeee! good stuff.
I warmed up for about a half hour shooting my new to me beautiful original condition 58 kodiak special for the first time. This was a shot that I'm really familiar with being this is what I practiced every day for two months before spring turkey. I shot off of my tri-pod camo seat. Made them count with a dead center 10 and a little left 8 for a week two 18. Someday I will figure out how to post pictures on this site. Why is it so hard every other forum that I'm on just has a button that says attach.
do you have a photobucket account?
16 for me this week.

My setup

14 is what i got for week 2. I need more practice at this position for deer season.
Looks like your getting there Shed Hunter.

First shot got away from me, but did manage to salvage 14 points. Take care 'til round three.
Cheers & Blessings!

Ethically; should we be trying daily throughout the week and post the best, or just go out make on e effort with it and post it?
I will get mine in and up as soon as I get power at home. Central Ohio got it pretty bad last Friday night. Last heard 250,000 still out of power. At work now sneaking in on my lunch. Will post when I get pics and have time to shoot week #2.
Elkbreath, did you catch up wk 1 ?
Ron
Elkbreath, not sure what everyone else is doing but i just go out and shoot it and post it.

x2
I shot 3 or 4 shots to loosen up, then let 'em fly.
Got to admit, this sitting shot was pretty tough.
Just wait til we get to shoot some shots off your back and belly.
QuoteOriginally posted by ericmerg:

My Hitman Longbow by Dave Heniff. 62" 66# at 28". May very well be the best bow I have ever shot.
Matt
Warsaw, I did. But forgot to post. At work now. I'll add it on to my post.
Im just posting first try also
I'm posting first try once I have put the plate up. I believe you can warm up unless posted that it should be cold or if it is posted as a hunting scenerio.
I do some warm up shots from the stated position. Then put the plate up. I sike myself out and shoot and post. Guarrenteed to frazzle my nerves.
Shoot and post. I'm interested in how others are shooting, but I'm competing with myself.
We've got Elkbreath and Elknutz on here, I guess I'll change my handle to Elkfart or maybe um Elkanus or do I have to shoot one first.
Elkdust until you get one
Or I suppose elkless would do.
:knothead:
2 8s for a total of 16.
10 yards worked out nicely shooting diagonally in my man cave is about 7 yards. With the family away I opened the door to the cave and shot across into the kids play room for 12 yards now. Not sure if my daughter would approve of Hello Kitty downrange!
No the house wasnt broken into the kids didnt pick up yet again!
Ive resized these and checked that in photobucket they say 640x400 but they are huge looking to me?
Dropping out, too far behind to start.
HAHAHAHA yeah Elkless will do. Can any of you Elk guys help me out to hunt elk for my first time.
12 for week 2
Tried a few practice shots, then decided that wasn't helping so just gave it a go. I guess I need to try more practice and a smoother release rather than just using The Force.
14 for me this week.
I shot a 16. Two 8's
MAP
I shot a 10......... :dunno:
bringin it back to the top. looks like a 3 way tie for 1st this week unless someone beats 18

Ron

I'll get Week 1 and Week 2 up here tonight!
Thanks Dogboy900 and cpnhgningct jump in.
I'll check for final changes, and scores tonight.
18 for me.
In case of a tie, I assume that week 3 pick should go to Looper as he has the highest total score, yes?
Matt
Sounds good to me!!
Only good thing I can say about this is that there is a group of sorts :)
Give me an 8.
I'm delayed this week, took off to the Black Hills and I'll do a double shoot when I get back if I have to, this place is really something, was within 40 feet of four mountain goats, too bad I have to go home again-ha!
We now have 5 that shot 18 if nothing changes a five way tie.
Maybe pull a name out of the hat?
I only say this because it might be the only time some may have a chance to choose the next shot.
Just my thought.
ill pick a name and pm the winner
and the winner is... raging water
My name pulled out of a hat.
Figures, that is the only way I could win the shoot off!
Week 3 shoot is already posted on Pow Wow.
Matt
here is my attempt to make you all look good. I have a 6.
