Mae-Mae had her last softball game of the season early, then Cade had his first All-star game of the season last Saturday at noon.
I'd gone out for a short run at daybreak, so with a bit of time before Mae-Mae's game I grabbed my Kempf Raven "Bonita" to shoot a couple arrows.
Went back to about 22-25yds(I never shoot marked distance at home) and shot my first arrow....looked perfect...
Then I shot 2 more that were a bit off but not bad.
Drew back my fourth and last arrow...released...and immediately saw my nock fly and heard a very strange sound.....
As I approached the target, I could see my last arrow had hardly penetrated and my first arrow that I knew was right there had disappeared...
After 28 yrs. of trad shooting I'd shot a robin hood! I don't shoot for groups too often and hate ruining arrows. I've probably shot hundreds of nocks off in that time.
Now normally I'd be ticked that I ruined a good arrow...but it's fact of "where" the arrows were in the target that made it a little easier....

The two shots really couldn't have been more "on the money", so I can live with it :)
It's nice to have a couple on the wall for looks but they do get a bit expensive.
Good shooting.
Way to go Curt....

For whatever reason Cade was having a bad morning shooting. I was getting him in on the fish, but he was struggling, which is really not like him.
Then we got out of the canoe to try a little backwater area that had some water in it. We saw a couple fish.
I shot once...

Predator stalking the shadows...

He did end up with a couple more shots but couldn't connect...

Nice Curt ! Great pics as always. :clapper:
Nice! Congrats on the robin hood and I doubt Cade stays in his slump for long.
Good stuff and fine looking bow.
:clapper: Great job Curt!
That a boy !!!!
WOW! I thought it took me a long time at about 18 years to get the famed Robin Hood. Pretty cool eh?
Great shot! I shot a knock off a cedar shaft a couple years ago then I got my first robin hood with a aluminum arrow this spring. In my case it was luck. Nice pics also.
Breaking arrows does stink....but there is something sweet about it when they are right in the middle of the bullseye!
Congrats on your Robin Hood, Curt! I sure hope you kept that and hung it on the wall in your man-cave.
I bet Cade is all over those fish next time out!

I think I've had one robin hood in my entire life and it probably took me at least that long for my first. Great pictures!

Thanx fellas!
Some bowfishing and frogging in the near future for us...stay tuned
Don, as far as baseball/softball....Mae's still young enough they don't keep score.
Cade's team plays again today...two wins away from the championship

Curt,
That kind of shooting will get you well-practiced for your next "Texas Heart Shot" on a departing deer at Solana Ranch. :D
