I am lucky to have 2 kids that are just "eat up" with shooting their bows right now. Both have always shot a little with me but once we simplified our life and moved into a house (barn) and threw the Direct TV in the trash, we started being outside more.
My son went with me to the United Bowhunters of Illinois state shoot. He had a bow he had outgrown and needed another. JP Enterprises was there and had some of St. Joe's bows http://www.stjoeriverbows.com/ He picked one up and knew it was the one for him. Needless to say I now have had to pick up some arrows from another sponsor Kid Stix http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=48;t=001505 He's now getting dialed in. What he lacks in form, he makes up for in want-to. I truly hope this continues.

My daughter is bowshooting savant. From the moment she picked one up she had perfect form. Look at this old pic from a few years ago.

Her current rig is a Maddog longbow http://www.maddogarchery.com/ that she loves. I had to get her some arrows from Kid Stix too once she got wind that her brother was getting some. I see a huntress growing and getting better with each day now.

Now I ask you...is your form that good? Mine's not. My son is my clone: looks, form, temperment. My daughter is my wife's clone...bet she can shoot too :)
Big thumbs up to our sponsors and all they do to keep bows in kids' hands. I am trying to burn these great days shooting into my mind for later times when they are grown, teaching their own kids to shoot :campfire:
What a lucky man you are! Great family fun and pictures. My new little grandson was just born in February, so it will be a while before he can shoot with Grandpa, but he already owns 4 bows.
You can sure tell that young lady has not been taking advise from the internet form experts.
Most excellent, good form, good pics.
From what I observed the last time I saw a video of me shooting...no way my form is that good.
Great, great stuff. My four y.o. daughter's first draw looked exactly like yours without the three under. My in-laws (non-hunters) can't get over how she can pull an arrow from her back quiver, load it, and let it fly. Too fun.
Just goes to Prove: The Little Ones dont Miss a Trick!! Awsome!! :clapper: :clapper:
Thanks for sharing! Great pix and story. Need to get my kid off his computer for more than ten min.
That's great man, I have a 5 year old son and a 2 year old daughter and they shoot with me all the time. My daughter can't quite pull her little bow back yet but she still has fun hangin out with dad and brother. It's a blast shootin with my children and seein the joy in there face, priceless!
Awesome!
That's awesome Brutha!! No my form is not that good, not even close :)
That is super! Thanks for sharing.
Mine's crap, this is my daughter & this is the third time she has used a bow. (http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd377/0419falcon/9bd5ed83.jpg)
Lyonel I think our daughter's are making us look like rookies :) Great pic!

And here's what happens if you happen to be a dinosaur:

I got that target and two other dinosaurs from Traditional Archers of New Jersey at Whittingham. If you have kids interested in shooting get in touch with those guys - they sell the targets, for amazingly low prices as a fund raiser for their kids archery projects - great guys and great targets.
Kids are just plain cool! Thanks for sharing!!
Nothing better than getting the family involved! Great to see!
Easy there Mike...the kids look great but I've seen you shoot...and you're a machine! They come by it honestly. Now how good looking they are....maybe the wife has someting to do with that!...Ryan
Ryan she had EVERYTHING to with that. :) I outkicked my coverage with her for sure :p
Great pics guys! Awesome to see the tradition lives on :campfire:
