Just got a Martin X-299 and am setting it up as a 3D and Field bow. Noticed that it has very shallow string notches. Is that an issue I need to be concerned about?Any problems with strings jumping the limbs?
I've been shooting an X-200 for two years and have not had any problems to date.
the first trad bow i ever had. had mine prob 6yrs now prob at all with anything. great bow
Weve had a couple of martin bows come to the shop, with bad string grooves, over the last few years.Easy to fix yourself, but voids the warrany,if you choose to do it yourself.Because of this,we sent them back.
If this is the same X-200 I sent to wolfbow for his veteran friend, the string grooves are NOT "too shallow". The X-200 you have was one of three X-200 recurves we use for our guest archers. All identical, never any issues. In fact, the one you have killed several turkeys and many rabbits.
Mine looks too shallow to me but has never jumped the grooves. I am real cautious to check it each time I string it.
