Well let me tell ya how this trad thing all started, I piddle with a lil taxidermy in the fall and was mounting a few deer for buddies in my granddads barn. This man is responisible for my hunting interest 100% so i notice his old recurve hanging out on the wall no string or nothin asked if he minded if i took it to shoot of course he didn't and off I went.
Well after a month I became completely ingulfed in traditional archery and traded my compound for a new custom bow and my Pearson Cougar became a talkin piece I guess. Well then I built a couple of bows and killed deer with both bows I built, and this summer i found myselft staring at that old Pearson. I pick it up and start shootin and fall in love with it. My granddad never killed a deer with this bow and he still hunts with me during the gun season here in GA so I'm bound and determined to show this bow some blood before he's gone. Nothing fancy about this bow but the meaning behind this bow is huge. I hope the man up stairs smiles on me this year. Can anyone help me on the age of this bow?

then i did a couple of knives to add a lil flavor to the hunting pack.

I guess this underlying story here is its really taken me about 3 years of shooting trad to START to understand it. Its not necessarily about the most custom bow out there or the fastest or the most awesomest lol. Its really about TRADITION
Hope you get a deer with it. Bet that would put a smile on Granddads face.
You hit the nail on the head bud keep at it . As for the age of the bow I cant help ya there but she is nice to look at
The tradition is more than the bow, your hunting, Grandpa & bows are a part of the TRADITION... someday you may show your Grandson the way...
I hunted with one of those for a few years, they shot very well, I'm thinking they were from the late 60',early 70's. Good luck on your quest, it would make grandpa proud!!
Neat story, love the old bows.
Try posting that bow in the trad history collecting forum.
Yup, try the History forum. I bought a couple of these to refinish to give to friends and they are sweet shooters.
I hope you can put a deer or two on that for your Grampa, that would be awesome!
