Guys - I just got this from the Widow boys today and I couldn't be happier...PCH-III, 58" long, 45#@28". They did a fantastic job and it really exceeded my expectations. Vernon and Roger were great to work with and they really did a nice job on this bow. I even requested that they try and find some darker toned Autumn Oak and they came through on that for me as well - very nice.
I'll go ahead and admit I've never been a Widow fan-boy (never really liked the std grip or the red glass) but I have to tell you I demo'd a PCH-X with Asbell grip earlier this spring as was really impressed how much I liked it...very smooth, accurate for me and dare I say it...QUIET! I know, not typically what you hear about Widows but the demo bow and my new bow are as quiet as any recurve I have ever owned - no kidding. Seem to be tolerant of arrow spine as well. Maybe it's the PCH design??? Anyway, thought I'd post some pics of this one since it is a little different with NO red glass in the bow and I think it really turned out awesome! I'm hoping to kill a nice mulie with it in CO this fall to break it in...hopefully they built a little mojo into it as well!

I'm not a Widow guy myself but they have always made a beautiful looking and shooting bow and yours is a beauty.
That is a really beauiful bow!
Very nice
Very nice !!!
Bill
Congrats! You will love it.
I got a PCHX myself a few months back, what a great bow. Couldn't be happier. And you're right, the Widow guys are great to work with.
Nice looking bow.
The nicest Autumn Oak I have ever seen. Big congrats.
Thats very nice!
Congrats
Looks great!
Sweet bow! Love the classic black and white.
Yep... my next widder will contain NO red glass either!
Nice bow and thanks for puttin' up the pics.
ak.
I dont shoot Widows but they are beautiful and have a big following so they must be doing it right.
Very nice. I agree. My widows are super quiet too.
Wow really like your changes. I bet that isn't the last one like that we see.
Good luck on the Mulies Gary! Be careful though you don't want to get any "red on it".
I like your PCH! That's the first close-up without red glass I've seen. I have a PCHX and a PAX that I think highly of as well.
Beautiful Bow. Can you attempt to describe what the "Asbell Grip" feels like? I have never handled a Asbell grip. Thanks
Looks great,good luck.
Very nice, I"m a big fan of no red and here is my KB with no red or white.

Nice looking bow. I like the way you did yours without the red. The Asbell grip is my favorite grip mine feels natural and like my hand melts in the bow.
Very nice bow! Congrats. You said yours is spine tolerant; can you elaborate?
Very nice!!!
That is a sweet looking widow.
My KBX is the quietest bow I have ever owned.
And I like the red too!

That's sweet right there! Love my PCH.
Have fun with it. Eric
Thanks guys!
Tom - you're right...I prefer the "all natural" red on my bows.
Duncan - the Asbell grip for me just fills out the contact area of my hand more. I've never considered myself a high-wrist shooter, but the standard grip always created more of a pressure point in the web of my hand. The Asbell grip provides just the right amount of comfort and also does add IMO a great degree of pointability.
Shaun - I've only shot it a little so far at close range but I was getting apparently good arrow flight from Axis 500's, 30" w/125 gr point, and my usual Beman MFX 500's, 28.25" w/200 gr points. I haven't checked but these arrows are probably pretty close in spine, although I have owned other bows that wouldn't shoot both and were a lot more touchy.
Didn't get to finish last post regarding arrow spine...
I really haven't had the opportunity do much tuning yet either...just installed the spider silencers, set a nock at 5/8", set BH at 8.5" and started shooting and was really surprised how well it performed with no adjustments!
:bigsmyl: :bigsmyl: :goldtooth: :goldtooth: Nice Widow looks a lot my PCHX no red in mine also. TD.
Very nice, there seems to be following for Widows without red glass. Good choice. It is nice to know that the people at Black Widow aim to please.
I haven't tried one, but like the PCHX and PLX with the veneers offered. Also like the idea of test driving a bow before buying.

Great looker. I like the second picture best. What are the limb veneers?
Veneers are standard Autumn Oak...which I think is laminated Birch.
