During the St. Jude's auction I was bidding on the perfect pink bow for my daughter. I was doing okay during the auction, but the bidding hit my limit. I got out bid and wished the new bidder and the future little girl well wishes and thanks for helping out St. Jude's. The auction ended. I was fletching arrows at the kitchen table and talking with our neighbor when my wife checked email. She said, "I thought you didn't win that bow." I said, "I didn't". Then she said, "What is this email about then?"
The winner of the auction had actually outbid me only to have the bow sent to my daughter anyway. I had never even met or even communicated with the bidder before!!!!! I was completely blown away by this gesture. My daughter was as well. The bow arrived the day before Marisa's 6th birthday. She was all smiles.

Later that week she was flinging arrows.

And then she (and her sister) got a special arm guard from Mom and Dad to top it all off

I cannot say how blessed my family feels with this very special gift!! There are Angels among us!! There just happens to be a higher ratio of Angels here on Tradgang.

Truly inspirational people here on Trad Gang. Just awesome.
Kinda restores your faith in mankind, doesn't it?
Matt
Tradgang people are the best. :bigsmyl:
That's WAY COOL!
When I have a bad day at work, dealing with things in Law Enforcement that cause you to lose faith in humanity, inevitably I can log onto tradgang and will most always read a story of neighbor helping neighbor.
Blessings to the winner of the auction and their act of selfless kindness.

AWESOME!!!!!

How kind and generous. Your little girl's smile must've been a huge reward for that bow.
:clapper:
Thanks for posting Jerry. Would like to know who it was? Your daughter looks surprised as much as happy! Really cool!
Any wonder why this site is more like a family than strangers? You will not run in to a better group of folks to talk and laugh with.
Wonderful story. Thanks!
That's just. Awesome

Too cool and although that is common behavior on Trad Gang I am awed every time such a thing transpires. Angels for sure.
You'll have to travel a long way in this world to find a kinder gentler person than RK
I count myself very lucky and privileged to know him
What an awesome gesture. Those are two happy little shooter's you've got there.
WOW ! Hard to see the screen right now, sprung a leak !!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
Yup, Tradgangers are a special group. What a fine gesture by your "competition" and you're blessed with a pair of cute girls who seem estatic. Nice work all the way around gang.
Oh those heartless hunters!
This is more than an info board, it's a place of healing and joy.
Thank you for posting, and thank you, RK, for your great heart.

Happy Birthday Merisa. Great RK! Well told Jerry and will be looking forward to seeing both girls shooting this summer.
Amazing story , my wife does not understand how the community of tradgang is so close , but it is in an unbelievable way. Oh and I swear I did not tear up, not me!!! I'm a big burly man and eat nails for breakfast, no tears here. Thank you TradGang and community, I love the family here.

Incredible!
Boy Jerry, I was wondering when these pics were going to surface. That smile says it all.
Yes, when I received the email from Randy Keene :dunno:
Did I say his name. Anyhow, I can't say that I was surprised. The things that go on in this auction are truly blessings in disguise. Randy said that this bow was going to that young lady come high or heck water. With a name like Marissa it seems it was destined to be hers. Thank you Randy!
Great Stuff!
Thank you RK and everyone for making this an awesome place.
Please add the pictures of the two you Gals to the Gal picture thread to help inspire TJ's daughter.
Made my day for sure.
I love it!!! What a great spin-off from the many good things that come from the Annual St. Jude Auction here. At least twice in the past, even an old coot like me was surprised by a similar act from folks who out bid me on one item or another. Hard to beat generousity like that, right on top of helping the kids of St. Jude. As I said - I LOVE IT!!!
An amazing gesture! Just warms my heart. Every time I read of an instance of TradGang kindness it reminds me to find moments in my life to try and do the same.
Great story. :clapper: :clapper:
Another "Angel" has shown up! I had a package at my door when I got home tonight. It's been a long day so I'll post some pictures tomorrow!!!!!! There are some awesome people on this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW !!!!! that is great! god bless all partys involved
That was one of the best stories to come out of the St. Jude auction this year Jerry.
Great pictures, and thanks for sharing them here.
That bidder has always been a respected member here, and this just goes to prove how well deserved the reputation is!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
Great work is done in the hearts of men. Worthy is the Lamb.
Very special people here.
Completely awesome! God bless!
My kids always have a lemonade stand every July to make some spending money for the Wisconsin State Fair. Last year they decided to donate half of their proceeds to a charity. We were traveling in the truck this weekend and I asked if they had decided who they where going to donate half of their lemonade stand money to this year. They both looked at each other and said without hesitation, "St. Judes Hospital" My heart just about popped from filling up with pride.
Awesome all around!!!
Wonderful story. lots of great people on this site. You will be hard pressed to cherish anything more than shooting with those little girls and I would bet the angel in question knows that.
Thought I'd bring this back up to the top. The St. Judes auction is just around the corner!!!
My girls want to get in on the action this year and will be baking cookies. Not just any cookies, but cookies that look like broadheads. They haven't decided yet, if they want to make them "single bevel" or "double bevel" just yet. Cookie flavor or type is also being decided upon. Stay tuned.
Thanks for bringing this back up. I needed a smile today.
Fine people among us and it shows every day.
well that post brought a tear to my eye. I plan on doing something myself with St Jude and can't wait to get started with. just a awesome awesome awesome program to be a part of
