Post by: Wyostikbo on June 20, 2012, 10:52:00 PM
After 7 years I finally drew an antelope tag for area 53. Hope I can make it count now.

I built points for a buck tag someday, but did draw two doe antelope tags.  Looking forward to August!

My wife and I drew area 103, I have a few ranches to try, no elk though and I will just go with a general on the deer.

If that area 53 is the same as it was many years ago, stop in at the local grocery store in Baggs and talk to the owner, (Lonnie) he held he P&Y record for many years for Antelope. Last time that I saw him, he was shooting a 75# Black Widow.

Thanks guys,
I actually live in Baggs and it took me 7 years to draw a tag!
As dry as it is this year we may be hunting antelope on the river. Hopefully I will have story to tell  by the end of the season.

great thing about that country is that its awesome spot and stalk habitat.  with the broken canyons and 5 foot sagebrush...

Coyote hunting out there aint half bad either!

Good luck, let us know how it goes.
