After shooting trad. for a good many yrs, ive finally settled on a bow style, which for me, is the Hill style. Now settling on a builder, thats likely not gonna happen cause theres to many good ones out there. I still love my recurves, but my passion is with the Hill style. Anybody else found a style that just seems to work for them and keeps you coming back?
:coffee:
Yes, a recurve, wait a longbow, wait recurve
Next!
Hills/style 35+ years & wailing! Just got a Tim Mieggs this morning. Schulz is my go to bow. Kramer is the prettiest in Yew. Maulding works real well. Tembo is deadly! How can you go wrong?
for me Hill style, well I should say more of a Modified Hill style, in stead of the total swing draw, mine is more half draw up, settle and straight back, continuous motion, just a pause in transition.
Thom style.
Thom
I shoot only Hill style these days. It keeps me disciplined.
For me it's less a style of bow and much more about the style of grip. I can shoot straight grips significantly better than locator grips. I have always preferred longbows over recurves and have more R/D's than Hill styles though I shot them all yesterday and was equally satisfied in any of the straight grip bows.
Large risered recurves. No doubt about it for me.
Objectively, I am still better with my Black Widow TF, pushing a light, fast piece of sitka spruce, but doggone it, the bow I reach for, every day, and the bow I want to shoot to the limits of my abiility, is a Hill, Wesley Special, (string follow and straight gripped), with some big, old, heavy ash arrows!
Sometimes, it's not the thing, but the IDEA of the thing, that makes you want to get up in the morning....
I love the Hill style bows but must say I love my Mohawk most. Its kinda close.RC
I love and have had a few hill style bows. But I love and shoot my bamabows the best.
Hybrids for me.
Hill style for me and straight handled, deep cored, narrow limbed stringfollow longbows. Oh yeah!
The metal ILFs, both recurve and LB.
