Looking for some thoughts on Hill heads, from those who use them.
Tuff as nails and fly like darts. Love em. Some find it hard to sharpen them, you are better with the course edge then trying for the razor sharp as with other heads. They are great heads!
I have had good luck with them. Tuning is not as critical as with most broadheads.
Round chainsaw file to get a single bevel edge.I think they are a great broadhead.
Mine are left and right wing single bevels, ground from Hill blanks. I use a Grizzly file, a diamond hone, and a strap to get them shaving sharp, and then put a slight serration with the corner of the Grizzly file. I find that I get slightly better average blood trails with them than I did with the original Grizzlies that were either shaving sharp or shaving sharp with the slight serration, but the differences are really minimal.
