I've got a new (to me) Palmer Classic take down recurve. It's got threaded inserts on the back of the riser (top and bottom). I'm assuming these are for a quiver but haven't seen any for sale that mount like this. I'm pretty new to the trad thing so if someone can tell me if they still make quivers for this time of mount or should I be looking at a slip on or a limb bolt mount quiver. Thanks!
It is for a delta quiver
Do you mean the belly side of the riser, like a Brakenbury? Only threaded quiver inserts I've seen on the back of the riser are on older Wing one-piece bows. Not familiar with Palmers, but if they're the same, a Wing quiver would work. Deltas I've seen are made to fit on the side of the bow, but I suppose mounting brackets/arms could be made to mount it from the front or back of the bow. That's in effect what Wing does. Don't believe the Wings are made anymore, but they turn up quite often on the big auction site.
Hi Bobby! I used to have a Palmer but it did not have the inserts you are talking about. Post up a pic of yours and I'll bet you get some more clear answers.
Did you or your son end up getting anything last weekend?
See ya later,
Bisch
I'll try to post a pic....they are on the very back of the riser (facing you if you're at full draw):

Bisch...we had some shot opportunities but didn't make the best of them if you know what I mean.
Those inserts are for the Delta quiver, which is not made anymore. You can use a limb bolt quiver with attachment bolts from a side mount to make a pretty good set-up.

Thanks for the info! I appreciate it.
Maybe I'll attach a mirror to the inserts so I can see behind me without moving. :D
Just get the Fred Bear recurve quiver and make new brackets out of 1/8in aluminum and will work just fine. It is the same as the Delta quivers and I love that style of quiver as you can adjust the quiver to balance properly on your bow. Have used these quivers with all my bows over the years from my Bear T/D, Bob Lee, BW to my current Hoyt Buffalo.
The Brack quiver in classifieds is what we are talking about.
