With the limbs backed off it seems an ILF bow will have a gap between the riser and the limb that could catch brush. I see some guys (Morrison) are now making wood risers that don't have a gap, is this because it's a problem or is it an appearance thing?
As far as I know it depends on the durability of those pockets.
Some bowyers have got problems with customers, cuz of destroing that narrow side wall as a result of careless treatment.
My Morrison ILF Riser isnt that damageable, the limb pockets are made of black phenolic and very stable.
I think it is mostly for looks..
I never had a problem with any of mine.(JMO)
Thanks, I'm looking at a Morrison riser so good to know.
It should not be an issue.
No problems with mine in the brushy Pacific NW.
No problem with my Morrison ILF.

No hang ups in brush with my Morrison, either.
Not anywhere near as "bad" as a bow quiver or the larger bolts used on some take downs. In a word, "no".
Ditto what Bill Carlsen said.
No problems with any of my Morrison ILFs...except hard to put down:)
I have 3 Morrison ILF's and it's no problem.
