I am almost up on the list for a 2 piece longbow. Wanting Macassar Ebony for the limbs veneer. What goes with it?
I have a Morrison ILF Riser with Macassar Ebony in it, looks great. Dont know anything about how it would hold up in limbs, but it would sure look great!!!
I love an all Macassar longbow, but a dark cocobola looks fantastic as well. I had a macassar limb veneer with zebra riser that was very nice as well. A piece of dark myrtle burl would be fantastic too. Way to go now I need a couple more bows!
Congrats on the bow and great choice in limb veneers (I love a dark bow)!
Travis
I have 2 recurves with Macassar veneers,I like them and I think they are a good hunting color.
They are on the dark side but i rather hunt with a darker limb than a too light colored one.
My hill country wildcat is macassar riser with cocobolo insert and macassar veneers. The cocobolo really looks nice alongside that ebony.
I have a Habu that is all Macassar, and an Eagle Wing Talon that has a Macassar riser with tiger wood limb laminations. Both look very good to my eye.
Just makes for a simply amazing looking bow.
My new Tall Tines all Macassar Ebony longbow...I call him "George".

Mike beat me to it..
More is good!
Beautiful Macassar Tall Tines...
Just keep in mind that Brian does not waste his talent on ugly bows or does he artistically widdle alluring beauty into all his bows.
Figured myrtle looks great for limb overlays.
Macassar is one of the most beautiful woods out there IMO
Good luck and can't wait to see photos.

Macassar Ebony with Brazilian Tulipwood is my favorite wood combo.
Trevor
Wow. Those are some good looking bows. The contrast in the macassar ebony might make me choose to go the one wood route.
I think a good piece of bocote looks great with macasser.
Bacote! I've got an older Habu recurve that is maccaser ebony in the riser and Bacote for limb veneers. Despite all the scratches in it from hunting it like a dog I still get compliments on how beautiful it is.
Have a Rose Oak King Panther with Macassar Ebony veneers and burnt orange cocobolo riser. Looks sharp.
Jerry
Tulipwood.
I'd like to see some pics of that bow Barredfeather.
I think tiger myrtle would go well also.

Tiger Myrtle looks good with Macasser.

My bow will have a cocobolo accent stripe on it.
Kirk is using Macassar for the I-Beam on my Sasquatch. Should be here any day.
Macassar ebony with black and white ebony also makes a nice combination.

Thanks to all for posting. Don't know if those pics made it easier or harder to choose.
So many combinations, so little time!
That Tiger Myrtle from Goke takes the cake for me! GEEEEEEZ!
Bocote matches well with Macasser!
Love it in my risers and on end tips but would hesitate to use ebony as a core wood in my limbs. Good luck and good shooting.
I love the Maccaser and Zebra wood combo in my Brackenbury Nontypical.

OMGosh, what a bear!
Holy smoke Philip! That is the most beautiful bow I've ever seen a picture of! Are those Rose Oak limbs?
I see now how discerning you are! Good luck with your Bear hunting in Wisconsin!
Bowwild is right I've seen thousands of bows over the years I honestly can't remember seeing one as nice as yours.

Macassar, Tigerwood and Koa EagleWing Talon
Ever bow pictured are beautiful. I also like Bocote with Macassar Ebony.
2X Ebony and Bocote, or
Ebony with Zebra, or Ebony with Cocobolo. It comes down to what you like. Check out a few bowyer websites.
Philip, you have really one heck of a bow there!
Philip
Looks like you caught the attention of the Bear TD nuts........like us!
Beautiful riser and limbs!
Thanks guy's.
I owned this riser many years ago and sold it.
Recently it found it's way back to me and I sold it again.
I don't know why I sold it twice but each time I did, I regretted it!
So.........I reached out to get it back. This was not an easy negotiation. It took several days of talking and some serious trade material.
Anyway, she's back home now and NOT FOR SALE!...LOL
Here's another look at her. The limbs are from Brandon Stahl at Rose Oak Creations. They are #1 limbs making a 60" bow on this B riser and they are 51# @28".
These are the finest Bear T/D Limbs I have ever seen.
