I did a search and found some info on Simmons broad heads but mainly tree sharks.I just got some 125 grain land sharks and I am considering using them this year.I am shooting 47 lbs at 27 black widow psa.I know any sharp broad head in the right spot will work.Just looking for anyone who has success with this head. From what I have seen these heads leave a lot of blood on the ground. Also anyone that has used both land sharks and woodsman elite, which do you feel penetrates better ?Thanks for any info
Been using land sharks and tree sharks for over 10 years, have never had failure or any issue other than learning how to properly sharpen them. I normally shoot them from bows in the 48 to 52 lb range. I started using the 175 gr woodsman elite 2 years ago from a 44lb RD long bow, but i have only taken two whitetails with them, both were easy finds and so far no problems with them either. Both heads will do the job they were designed for, and from my experience both fly really well. I might be inclined to give the land shark the edge in the durability dept. just on the fact that i've taken alot more game with them... JMO
I shot with the 165gr Landharks last year and loved how they flew....I didnt get to harvest an deer with them though but if you do a search on them you'll find a TON of info and pics with some AMAZING HOLES.
I have shot the 125 landshark off compounds flew great and as good a blood trail as any other head except the bigger Simmon's heads. I have not shot the woodsman elites but have shot deer with 1.5" cut 3 blade heads and they don't leave the blood trail the 160 landsharks do.LCH
