Yep many have gone down this road, myself included.
Took an oath today that from now on no more buying bows for me. I have enough. Why ? because it's time to buy'em for my son. He just turned seven and out of the blue he asked me for a bow. I was tickled to say the least. Made it to the local archery shop and picked up a Martin Matrix recurve for him. Very nice bow to start out with. Gave him the speech about he better remember to do his homework or else the bow goes to his sister. He took his oath and he drew it to anchor, and the old man was none prouder.
You should be proud! Congrats to both you and your son.
That sounds like an excuse to buy matching bows lol.
He'll be beggin for a heavier bow and wanting to go hunting before you know it.
Nice! (but I still bet you find a reasonto buy yourslef a new bow every now and then too    )
Congrats,
Bisch
Alright! :archer:
Wat to go. You can't buy them but you can tell witch one you want to your wife. B day ,Christmas ect.
You'll never find a better shooting / hunting partner!
My little ones and I often go on fine bee hunting trips.....they never run out of targets, and I never run out of smiles. Get em out with you,and you'll have the best shooting partners you could ever want.
Hunting with son/daughter is awesome!!
I have pics of my 3 year old drawing a recurve from 25 years ago. I feel and know how you feel
You can't start them down that path at too young an age.
Good job!
Sorry bout that what I meant to say was they are never too young to start down that path.
Pre-coffee post!
You did good Pete! Great!
Outstanding post, get them started young and the passion continues to grow
Im trying to get there myself. My son has outgrown his youth bow.
One thing I have learned is to never push them into something, they'll fall into it if they see you enjoy it as well.
AWESOME! got to love it!
How long until your daughter gets her own bow? I'm expecting mine to want one when she is about 6.
D
By the way, congratulations!
:campfire:
Yup I can see it now-matching Silvertips. :archer2:
yeah that is what we tell our wife....it is for the boy/girl. my granddaughter is 2.5...she now has a .22 Henry rifle and I just traded today for her a NIB never fired Colt Gold Cup Trophy .45...stainless/brushed. :)
